Griffith University Association of Commerce (GUAC) is a network for students, alumni, and professionals in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation, and Financial Planning. This society was established to create opportunities for students to grow their network and develop necessary skills before entering a career involving commerce. GUAC aims to achieve this by maintaining strong con

nections within the tertiary-education commerce faculties and the broader industry community. Furthermore, GUAC is responsible for hosting events, and conveying appropriate information to its members.

🔍 Open to Business, Commerce, and Law students at any Griffith campus! 🎓 Completed (or studying) 2150AFE Tax Law, 7106/7817AFE Income Tax, or 3106AFE Revenue Law.

💼 Work as an intern or volunteer! Options include Tax Clinic, UG Business Internship, Law Internship, PG Business Internship, or volunteer one day a week.

Are you interested in competing in one of the largest investment banking competitions?

Registrations are now open for the prestigious National Investment Banking Competition and Conference. Teams may sign up in teams of 2-4 but must add a 3rd or 4th team members if they advance to the final round.

The early-bird competition fee starts at $35 per competitor ($140 per team, 30% discount) for the first 50 teams (increases to $160-200 per team).

The first round case dissemination and submission takes places online while the final round is held in Vancouver, Canada. Teams that submit have a 25-30% historical chance of advancement.

Registered competitors receive access to training resources on the competitor portal and a 100-page case package, financial model template and pitchbook instructions for the first round.

GUAC is excited to announce its Annual General Meeting. It will be a fantastic opportunity to listen to the 2023 executives who will talk about 2023 and how the club operated over the year.

An integral part of the AGM will be the election of 2024 executives who will take up their position in the club. At the AGM, all positions of the club are open for nomination, ranging from executive positions all the way to general committee positions.

The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Brisbane Chapter is holding a finance and investment industry careers event held in conjunction with the CFA Institute University Research Challenge.

For anyone looking for career paths that will build and apply their knowledge of; finance, investment, accounting and/or law, this careers event will have representatives from some of Australia’s largest super funds, fund managers, banks, accounting firms, stockbrokers and infrastructure managers.
