Entry for the team and jerseys are subsidised by UQGEOS.

UQGEOS is hosting end of semester drinks this Friday 29th May and we want you all to come!

There will be a bar tab and snacks provided throughout the night!

Join the Geo & Physics Society again for another fun night of bouldering 🧗‍♀️✨ good vibes 😌 and great company! Whether you’re a seasoned climber or trying it out for the first time, this is the perfect chance to get involved and meet new people 👯‍♂️

⏰ **4:30–7:00pm** (but stay and climb as long as you like — the venue is open until **10:00pm**!)
🍕 **Pizza included with your ticket** so you can refuel between climbs

⚠️ **Important:** If you’re already an Urban Climb member, make sure to purchase the *member ticket option* — tickets are required for entry

📍 **Please note:** There are two entrances — enter via the **bouldering section**, not the ropes side
📝 If you haven’t climbed at Urban Climb before, allow extra time to complete the induction before climbing

✅ **Must do:** Fill out the waiver *before the day* — link will be sent to your inbox

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to SENV Trivia on May 6th 🧠
Awesome to see students from across UQ’s environmental and earth science societies all in one place for a night of trivia, competition, and a few answers that definitely drifted off course.
Big thanks to the societies involved:

🌿 Geography & Environmental Management Society (GEMS)
🪨 Geoscience Society (UQGEOS)
The leaderboard tides were constantly changing, some teams absolutely thrived under the pressure, and others may still be trying to map out where it all went wrong 👀🌏

Mini Seminar Semester 1 2026! 👏🪨
UQGEOS is presenting a mini seminar in order to introduce exciting research areas within earth science. On the 12th May we will be hosting Professor Gideon Rosenbaum and Dr William Defliese. These speakers will be presenting their own topics on how the secrets of plate tectonics can be revealed from curved mountain belts by Prof. Rosenbaum; aswell as Middle Miocene onset of modern southern ocean fronts in the southwest Pacific and The F and Cl composition of subductions oceanic sediments by Dr Defliese.
