π¬ Hear from Marc, a Master of Sustainable Energy student from the Philippines πΏ
I chose this program to build the skills needed to support a low-carbon energy transition in the Philippines, particularly for vulnerable island communities.
What I value most is learning alongside students from different professions and countries, so learning goes beyond the classroom. Through discussions, field trips, workshops and networking events, I've gained new perspectives on sustainable energy challenges and solutions.
A highlight was visiting UQ's Heron Island Research Station on the Great Barrier Reef, where I saw environmental research in action.
Outside of study, Brisbane has become a home away from home. I love the weather - there's plenty of sunshine throughout the year, which makes it easy to spend time outdoors. Brisbane also feels welcoming because of its diverse community.
My favourite way to unwind is taking the CityCat along the river and enjoying views of the city. I also love exploring nearby parks, bushlands, and beaches.
