Calling all poets.

The 2024 University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor's Poetry Prize is live, and humming along nicely. Details, T&C and entry portal are at https://www.canberra.edu.au/research/vcpoetryprize
*Overall winner: $15,000
*International winner (for a poet living in an economically developing nation): $5,000
*Runner-up: $5,000
Longlist entries will be published in a beautiful anthology.

The wonderful critic Michelle Borzi (Aust) and the wonderful poet James Cherry (USA) are this year's judges.

And another call for all poets!
The University of Canberra Health Poetry Prize, funded by the Faculty of Health, is open now for entries. Information, T&C and entry portal are in the link below.
The judges will be looking for interest, innovation, experimentation, or whatever motivates you, in poems that explore the issue of health and illness, of living well and living with the bodies we inhabit.
Winner: $3000
Runner up: $1000

University of Canberra is very excited to announce its judges for the Vice Chancellor's International Poetry Prize:

Mani Rao and Tony Barnstone!

Mani Rao's poems have been published in Meanjin, Cordite, Takahe, Printout, Iowa Review, Wasafiri, Indian Literature, TInfish, Zoland Poetry, Penguin Book of the Prose Poem and other journals and anthologies. Her books include Sing to Me (Recent Work Press) and Echolocation (Math Paper Press).

Tony Barnstone teaches at Whittier College and is the author of 21 books, a tarot deck and a music CD. His books of poetry include Pulp Sonnets; Beast in the Apartment; Tongue of War: From Pearl Harbor to Nagasaki; The Golem of Los Angeles; Sad Jazz: Sonnets; and Impure. He is also a translator or co-translator of world literature, primarily Chinese but also Spanish and Urdu. His awards include: The Poets Prize, the Strokestown International Prize, the Pushcart Prize in Poetry, The John Ciardi Prize, The Benjamin Saltman Award, and fellowships from the NEA, NEH, and California Arts Council. He has also co-edited the anthologies Republic of Apples, Democracy of Oranges: New Eco-Poetry from China and the United States; Dead and Undead Poems; and Monster Verse. His new publications are a co-translation from the Urdu, Faces Hidden in the Dust: Selected Ghazals of Ghalib and a creativity tool, The Radiant Tarot: Pathway to Creativity.
