MASO - Mature Age Student Organisation

MASO - Mature Age Student Organisation The Mature Age Student Organisation is an affiliate organisation to La Trobe Student Union Inc. It is inclusive of support, networking and representation.

MASO stands for Mature Age Student Organisation. Mature Age applies to students who began study at the age of 21 or over. Commonly, mature age students are at a disadvantage in comparison to undergraduate students. The MASO have a lounge specifically for the use of mature age students located in level 1 of the union building (just below union hall). With kitchen amenities, free tea and coffee, pool and lounges it's a home away from home.

Hi everyone,
I've had some messages about forms to join MASO, and I just want to let you all know that we don't have any forms to join MASO! If you are over 21 years of age, you are automatically included in MASO and have access to the lounge and can take advantage of our events and our services :)

On that note, message below any events that you want to see run by MASO in the near future!!

MASO NEEDS YOU!!!

We have a number of important positions on the committee including President that will need to be filled for 2022.

We need people who are keen on organising events for fellow Bundoora students aged between 21 and 99+.
The events need to cater for all ages as well as parents/carers! We need responsible and dedicated people to book, plan, cater and host the events such as welcome back parties, wine and cheese nights, movie nights, etc. Also included are maintaining the MASO lounge and providing support to mature age students.

Do you want to get more out of your University experience? Do you want to add valuable extras to your resume?

Do you want to socialise, network and meet new friends?

Do you have great ideas for events, love planning them, and want to be involved?

Our Story

MASO stands for Mature Age Student Organisation. Enrolling and commencing university over the age of 21 classifies you as mature aged. Commonly, mature age students are at a disadvantage compared to other undergraduate students. MASO have a lounge specifically for the use of mature age students located in level 1 of the union building (just below union hall). With kitchen amenities, free tea and coffee, pool and lounges it's a home away from home.

Every Semester, MASO hosts a broad and enjoyable events calendar suited to all students, their family, and networking on campus. Like our page and find us around campus for more information on when our events are held during the year. We are most known for out Murder Mystery parties that happen every year - we give our members a chance to let their hair down and network with fellow peers.

If you are on campus during the semester, please come down to the lounge and enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, with snacks and pizza being offered during SWOTVAC. The lounge is also complete with fridge, microwaves, kettle, sandwich press, couches and study spaces. It is a safe space for all and is a great place to relax between classes.
