Introduction to Discovering the Past - CS05555-V03

Course Description:
Are you interested in uncovering information about the past for family history or local history purposes in a supportive environment? Do you have an ancestor who fought in WW1 or WW11? Do you want to learn about interesting historical events that occurred in the place where you live? Or maybe you have a general interest in history and would like to explore resources that are now becoming more available through digitisation.

This course will help you to discover and use a range of digital sources and archives that can provide you with a variety of information about the past for a range of purposes. You will develop research skills and techniques to assist in your learning journey.

Location: TAFE NSW Cessnock, Darwin Street.
Mondays: 1.30pm to 4.30pm

Start Date: 27 April 2026 Duration: 6 Weeks

Cost: *Free This course is free to applicants who are: 15 years old or older, no longer at school, living or working in NSW and are an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen.
