Meet Duncan, a first-year, part-time PhD candidate.

🎭 Duncan’s research critically examines the approaches taken by male educators to counterbalance the impact of hegemonic masculinity and the manosphere within secondary schools. His work also explores the healthy, inclusive, and diverse forms of masculinity that Australian adolescents embrace, and how both student perspectives and teacher approaches can inform best practice in gender transformation within an Australian context.

🏫 Alongside his PhD, Duncan is a full-time Drama and History teacher. 27 years and counting! He is currently working towards confirmation in 2027 while continuing his teaching career.

🥾 Outside of work and research, Duncan enjoys bushwalking and has been playing Dungeons & Dragons for over 40 years!
