1. Advancing Electrical Knowledge to Scale and Predict Wave Energy
Develop the electrical systems knowledge needed to reliably scale wave energy converters, integrating real-world field data with advanced modelling. Ideal for candidates with a background in electrical engineering, electrical machines and power electronics.

2. Field-Data-Informed Hydrodynamics Optimisation of Self-Reacting, Weathervaning Wave Energy Converters
Advance the hydrodynamic understanding of wave energy systems using unique field data and numerical modelling to improve commercial-scale performance. Ideal for candidates with a background in hydrodynamics, offshore engineering or a related field.

Blue Economy Innovation Hub Australia launches its first initiative — a structured platform connecting marine innovation, maritime technology and investment across Western Australia to global markets.

OI member 𝗗𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝗶 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼 was part of a national team of researchers and practitioners that developed an Ocean Accounting White Paper for the NMSC, one of 21 papers informing the next National Marine Science Strategy 2026–2036.

Research is helping to shape a national roadmap linking ocean health, communities, governance and the economy to strengthen how Australia manages its oceans.
