Did you catch Notre Dame's Dr Victoria Lorrimar on ABC's Religion and Ethics Report? She spoke with Andrew West about Pope Leo's recent encyclical on AI: https://ow.ly/vOzu50Z6tuL

If you’d like to explore this topic in more depth, join Dr Lorrimar and leading international experts for an online panel discussion this Thursday. Register via the link in the comments.

In a powerful warning about the dangers and delusions of artificial intelligence, Pope Leo has taken on the self-styled gods of the 21st century. He’s used his first encyclical to argue that whatever good AI might bring, it should never be controlled by a tiny group of ultra-wealthy tech titans. H...

This morning, staff at our Fremantle Campus came together for a National Reconciliation Week Morning Tea centred on reflection, connection and conversation.

This year’s theme, All In, invites us all to continue deepening our commitment to reconciliation through learning, action and meaningful connection

We were honoured to welcome Aunty Neta Knapp as our guest speaker. Aunty Neta is from the Goring, Kepacurl and Nyungar groups and was born in Gnowangerup in the Southwest. A member of the Stolen Generations, she was raised at Roelands Mission. Through her art and storytelling, Aunty Neta shared the resilience, strength and stories passed down from her elders.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a meaningful morning together.

This week is National Reconciliation Week and the 2026 theme is 'All In' – a call for all Australians to take meaningful action towards reconciliation every day.

This year's theme reminds us that reconciliation is not a spectator sport, but something we all share responsibility for through ongoing action, learning and collaboration.

Based at Broome Campus on Yawuru Country, the Nulungu Research Institute provides a university-wide Indigenous research, teaching and academic focus, fostering collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers.

Guided by the principle of 'the right people, on the right Country, in the right way', Nulungu undertakes community-driven research across areas including culture and language, Aboriginal wellbeing, sustainability and transformative learning – supporting work that amplifies Indigenous voices and delivers meaningful outcomes for communities.
