Did you know that the Critically Endangered Condamine Earless Dragon is found only within a tiny 76 km² area in southern Queensland? Even within this range, their presence is patchy, their population is unknown, and we’re still learning what factors influence where they occur.

Dr April Reside and her team are working hard to uncover the secrets of this elusive species – studying habitat structure, soil type, and testing different detection methods to help us understand and conserve these dragons.

A huge thank you to Eloise for capturing these stunning photos! 📸 Eloise’s PhD research focuses on “Conserving Reptile Diversity in Agricultural Landscapes: Threats and Solutions” – vital work that shines a light on the challenges reptiles face in changing environments.
