Very powerful message and so much still to be done as "At this rate, global gender equality is still 100 years away. Together we can make it right in 10." The Monkeys, part of Accenture Interactive, has won the Campaign of the Year Award for its ‘When Will She be Right?’ campaign for UN Women Australia.

If you’re in Victoria, you may have just felt an earthquake. Did you know that two earthquakes in Victoria nine years ago tell us a lot about how fault lines can ‘talk to each other’ to generate further seismic shocks?

On 19th June 2012 at 8:53 pm local time, a moment magnitude-4.9 earthquake rattled the residents in and around the small town of Thorpdale in eastern Victoria. Moment magnitude measures the size or strength of an earthquake based on how much energy is released, which differs from the better known Richter scale.

The quake was felt more than 100 kilometres away in Melbourne’s CBD and in other parts of the state.

Then, nearly a month later, on 20th July at 7:11 pm, another magnitude-4.3 seismic shock jolted the region.

A second earthquake like this is normal because, usually, the release of residue stress on a fault produces smaller aftershocks in the days following a mainshock.

But, in fact, new research suggests that these earthquakes broke not one, but two adjacent faults. And it’s likely that the seismic slip on the first fault activated the second one; which means that the first earthquake communicated with the second one in a language that only the Earth understands.

On Saturday 18 September, access to COVID-19 vaccine appointments at the Melbourne Museum and Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre may be affected by traffic disruptions.

◼️ Public transport will not operate in or out of the CBD from around 7:30am, with services expected to recommence from 2pm.

◼️ Vehicle checkpoints will be established.

◼️ Construction workers can only attend pre-booked appointments. Walk-ins will not be available.

You can still safely attend your booked vaccination appointment by:

◼️ Allowing extra travel time

◼️ Showing your confirmation email or SMS from the Department of Health about your vaccine appointment so you can pass any checkpoints.

If you cannot attend your appointment due to restricted public transport services, you can change your appointment by visiting: www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/book-your-vaccine-appointment.

Our two testing sites located in the CBD at 231 Russell St and 227 Bourke Street will be closed on Saturday.

Find other testing locations and estimated wait times at https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/where-get-tested-covid-19
