Donate to the MCCI Multicultural Communities Winter Blanket Appeal

Over the past year, MCCI has supported almost 1,000 people rebuilding their lives after conflict, displacement, hardship and loss. This year, the need continues to grow, with almost 200 newly arrived people from refugee backgrounds already referred to us for support.

For years, our community has helped make winter a little warmer through MCCI's Winter Blanket Appeal. Together, we've distributed more than 1,000 blankets to newly arrived refugee and migrant families.

With winter just days away, we're asking for your support once again.

You can:
- Donate a new double blanket at 5 Old Springhill Road, Coniston
- Make a donation to help us purchase new blankets

Every blanket provides warmth, comfort and a reminder that our community cares.

From 27 May to 3 June, Australia marks National Reconciliation Week; framing two major milestones in our shared history: the 1967 Referendum and the 1992 Mabo decision.

This yearโ€™s theme, All In, challenges us to see reconciliation as a daily, active responsibility. It is a reminder that advancing the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cannot be left to First Nations communities alone.

At Kiama Community College Ltd, we believe that education forms the foundation of a reconciled future. Whether itโ€™s through upskilling, personal enrichment, or community engagement, we are dedicated to creating space for genuine truth-telling, reciprocal learning, and meaningful connection.

We stand on Dharawal, Yuin, and Walbunja Country, and we pledge to keep listening, learning, and taking concrete actions to support a fairer, more inclusive community for everyone.

Today, as the Last Post echoes across a silent landscape, we stop to remember more than just a date in history. We remember the people who stepped out of their lives and into the unknown.

Commemorating Anzac Day isnโ€™t about glorifying war; itโ€™s about acknowledging the cost of it.
* We remember the sacrifice of those who never came home.
* We honour the resilience of those who did, carrying invisible scars.
* We recognise the diverse history of our service members, ensuring every story is told and every name is remembered.

Whether youโ€™re at a service, sharing a quiet moment at home, or gathered with family, letโ€™s take a moment to reflect on the Anzac spirit.
Lest we forget. ๐ŸŒบ

This March 21st, we are coming together for Harmony Day. But beyond the celebrations, we also stand firm for The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Our strength lies in our diversity, from the languages spoken on our campuses to the different life experiences shared in our classrooms. We believe that education is the ultimate tool for breaking down barriers and building a community where everyone belongs.

Today (and every day), weโ€™re committed to:
- Listening to lived experiences.
- Challenging prejudice wherever we see it.
- Learning from one another.
- Celebrating our diverse cultures
