Our Kingswood Campus was buzzing last Thursday as the School of Education hosted 70 Teacher Cadets from Doonside, Kingswood, Cranebrook and Eagle Vale for the Growing Great Teachers Program in partnership with Creating Chances

Dr John Ley Associate Lecturer, Mathematics Education, delivered an engaging mock tutorial to a full house of Year 10-12 students, proving that maths can be fun when you’re learning with purpose.
It was amazing to see so many young people exploring university life, connecting with our staff, and imagining themselves as future teachers. A brilliant day for our future educators.

The School of Education would like to congratulate and thank our 12 outstanding students who were selected to receive the 2025 Outstanding Pre-Service Teacher Award!

Funded by Teachers Mutual Bank, this initiative recognises Pre-Service Teachers who demonstrate exceptional performance, professionalism, and commitment during their professional experience placements. Each award provides financial support to assist students with their studies, placements, and ongoing professional development as they prepare to enter the teaching profession.

In 2025, more than 2,000 Pre-Service Teachers completed a professional experience subject across our Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching programs. We received over 60 nominations from Supervising Teachers and University Advisors, highlighting the high standard, dedication, and positive impact our students are making in schools and early childhood settings.

Thank you to our award recipients for attending the ceremony held on Wednesday, 18 February, and for the passion and professionalism you bring to the profession. We also extend our thanks to Teachers Mutual Bank for their generous support of this important initiative and their ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of educators.
