Applications are now open for The Bert Evans Apprentice Scholarship.

This scholarship supports NSW apprentices to successfully complete their apprenticeship in their chosen trade.

The scholarships:
- encourage more apprentices to achieve their goals and make a valuable contribution to their local communities
- invest in individual development to support employment outcomes.
Applications are welcome from apprentices in both metropolitan and regional areas, including school-based apprentices.

These scholarships are administered by the NSW Department of Education (the department)

R U OK? are encouraging apprentices and trainees to build and maintain strong friendships they can rely on as they move through life, to ensure they feel connected and supported. ‘Be a mate, it’s worth it’ is about being there for your mates, and knowing they'll be there for you too.

Moving from school to tools, whether it’s a job site, kitchen or office, can be a confronting experience and learning something new in a tough environment can take a toll.

Meghan, Thomas, and Tyler have shared personal stories to highlight the life changing role played by their mates and the importance of regularly checking in, paying attention to life events, and how to spot the signs a mate might be struggling.
