Rethinking Long Service Recognition: Is long service recognition outdated in today's fast-paced work environment?
With the average job tenure in Australia now between 1-4 years, traditional long service gifts might seem less relevant. Millennials and Gen Z value development, feedback, and purpose over tenure.
However, loyalty is becoming rarer, making it more valuable than ever. Recognising long-term commitment can reinforce a sense of belonging and continuity, especially in remote or hybrid workplaces.
