๐Ÿ“ข My Health Record changes commence from 1 July 2026.

New Sharing by Default requirements for eligible diagnostic imaging reports will commence as part of the Australian Government's Better and Faster Access to Health Information initiative.

These changes are relevant to chiropractors who refer for diagnostic imaging, access imaging reports, or operate practices with imaging capability.

As part of the ACA-CA Collaborative Digital Health Working Group initiative, resources have been developed and curated to ensure members have access to the same practical information and guidance regarding these important changes.

Members should check their inbox for the fact sheet, FAQs and additional information.

Save the date for Chiropractic Connected 2026 โ€“ reimagined as the Clinical Skills Symposium!

๐Ÿ“… Saturday 10 โ€“ Sunday 11 October 2026 | Victoria University, CBD Campus

This evolution reflects a sharper focus on what chiropractors tell us they need most: practical, immediately applicable skills and evidence-informed approaches they can implement in practice from day one.

The two-day symposium will bring together chiropractors at every stage of their careers for the following:

โ€ข Applied clinical skills development
โ€ข Contemporary and evidence-informed practice approaches
โ€ข Patient communication and outcomes
โ€ข Peer learning and professional networking
โ€ข High-value CPD in a focused environment

Delegates will also receive complimentary access to CARF Researchers' Day 2026 on Friday, 9 October (valued at $180), which connects clinicians directly with the researchers shaping the future of chiropractic practice.

Full program details, speaker announcements and registration information will be released soon.

Save the date and follow Chiropractic Australia for updates. We look forward to seeing you in Melbourne. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

An important update for chiropractic practice owners on the HPSS Award changes.

The Fair Work Commission has confirmed that the standard minimum qualification for a Chiropractor under the new Award classification structure (Schedule B) is AQF Level 9.

This reflects how chiropractic registration works in Australia. AHPRA registration requires both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree, and the Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia accredits six AQF Level 9 qualifications. The FWC acknowledged this in its determination, noting that AQF Level 7 is effectively an outlier for the profession.

All other details from our earlier communication remain in place, including the 1 October 2026 commencement date, the new 24-classification structure, and the phased pay increases running through to 2031.

If you employ chiropractors under the HPSS Award, please use AQF Level 9 as the reference point when confirming staff classifications ahead of October.

Chiropractors are shaping the future of low back pain care. ๐Ÿ’ช

A landmark Australian study is underway โ€” and it's the first of its kind to capture LBP trigger insights from within the chiropractic profession itself. That's a big deal for evidence-based practice, and for how our profession is seen in the broader healthcare landscape.

Conducted by Murdoch University, the research aims to identify the most common triggers of low back pain, understand how patients and chiropractors access prevention information, and improve patient education and outcomes across Australia.

How you can contribute: โ†’ Complete a short 10โ€“15 min clinician survey โ†’ Share the patient survey in-clinic or via social media โ†’ Display a QR code poster in your practice

Both surveys are anonymous. Your insights help build the evidence base that backs what we do every day.
