Great article in Nature hot off the press featuring brilliant lab alumni Winnie Orchard. The key takeaway? We are only just scratching the surface!

It’s a transformational time long neglected by neuroscience. That is starting to change.

You read correctly. An article published in Nature last year revealed that in 30 odd years of neuroimaging, less than 0.5% of published articles on human brain imaging consider women's health specifically. That means we have very limited evidence for how things like pregnancy, menopause or hormonal contraceptives might impact women's brains. It is especially problematic when you consider that conditions such as depression or Alzheimers disproportionally affect women.

The Monash Pregnancy Study is helping to change this - but we need your help! Share our page and website with family and friends who may be interested in participating - we are enthusiastically recruiting both pregnant women and women over 27 who have never been pregnant and are not trying for a baby to be part of our control group. Every participant makes a big impact, and any help is greatly appreciated!
