The Southern Highlands Campus, Moss Vale commenced operation in 2002 and is a joint University of Wollongong and Illawarra Institute of TAFE initiative. The Campus has a purpose built facility within the grounds of the Moss Vale Campus of the Illawarra Institute of TAFE. These facilities contain teaching rooms, computer facilities, video conference facilities,and a common room used exclusively by

UOW students. University of Wollongong students also have access to the canteen and library.The Library has experienced staff to assist students and stocks an excellent core collection of print, reserves and audiovisual materials as well as access to electronic databases and full text resources. UOW Southern Highlands offers a variety of flexible pathways into our degree programs. If you want to get a university qualification, we will help you find a way.

Sue Leppan, our Student Support Adviser will be on the Southern Highlands campus next Tuesday 22 May. If you need to speak with Sue about any issues impacting your studies or referral to any student support services, please make time to see Sue on Tuesday between 10am – 4pm. I would recommend making an appointment which you can do by contact me or Stephen.

If you need to speak with Sue on another day then please feel free to email her directly to request a phone appointment.

Dear Southern Highlands students

For a chance to win a $50 gift voucher, submit your answers to a few simple questions UOWx see photos bellow) and come along to our next Careers / UOWx seminar on Thur 4 May at 12.30pm.

We all know that it's important to get involved as much as possible while you're at uni, but how does this translate once you're in the 'real world'?

UOWx and Careers Central have joined forces to answer that question and help you articulate your skills and experiences to prospective employers. So come along to our next seminar “EXPRESS YOURSELF: adding the x-factor to your applications’,

This fast-paced, practical workshop will look at:
How to explain UOWx to employers?
Identifying the skills and knowledge gained through our co-curricular experiences
Addressing selection criteria using a co-curricular example
Responding to an interview question using a co-curricular example

This UOWx Interactive Seminar will feature:

· Guest presentation from Stephen Mitchell, UOW Alumni
· Careers workshop on selling your co-curricular experience to employers
· Launch of community volunteering opportunities by UOWx
· …and a delicious afternoon tea!

This is the perfect opportunity to learn, network and have fun! The event is completely free and open to all UOW students.

Attending this seminar is a compulsory requirement for those wishing to apply for the UOWx Award.
