Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing

Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing Organisations must undergo consistent self-evaluation and transformation to ensure their ability to respond to these changes in a successful way.

WOW scholars use rigorous academic processes to conduct research around contemporary workforce issues including emotion; employee voice; health and safety; equity, diversity and gender; collectivism; wellbeing; and managing human capital at work. The future direction of work is challenged by significant social, economic and technological changes, including the globalisation of work, impact of new

technologies, and the shift of skills and knowledge development to low cost labour countries. Griffith University has 20+ professionals based in our dedicated Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing (WOW) with expertise in human resource management, industrial relations, workplace innovation, and organisational behaviour and psychology, who examine the nature of work, its organisation, and the changing directions of the workforce. Specifically, we conduct macro (international, societal, organisational) and micro (individual) level research around contemporary workforce issues such as emotion; employee voice; collectivism; health and safety; wellbeing; equity, diversity, gender; and the management of human capital at work, helping to bridge the gap between workplace research, practice and policy.
