We’ll cover consent (incl. Tasmanian law), power dynamics, what s*xual harm is, how to look out for your mates, and where to get help if something feels off.

Temporary Water Outage: SATURDAY 17 JAN 2026 from 9am to 3pm.

Buildings affected: Investigator Hall and Newnham Apartments.

Note that there will be no water supply to your toilets, showers, laundry and kitchens. Please prepare yourselves by filling up enough water supply.

Portable toilets are available for use. There will also be a limited supply of water provided in containers. Bottled drinking water can be requested for from the Investigator Hall Office.

Get to know the NSO from 8 to 12 September.
The NSO is a free and independent service for higher education students. You can talk to the NSO about any concerns you have about the way your higher education provider has handled your complaint.

Speak to National Student Ombudsman staff in person at the NSO drop-in sessions on Wednesday 10 September.

You can find Complaints staff from 10-4pm at Morris Miller Library, Level 1, Room 131. You don’t need an appointment.

And if you can’t make it on Wednesday, our staff are available all week at Ombudsman
Tasmania’s office.

Have you seen the laundry room lately?
We’ve had enough — it’s time for a clean-up.

Campus Accommodation Staff will be clearing out the Newnham Apartments & Investigator Hall Laundry Rooms at 10:00am, Tuesday 19 August.
All residents affected have been notified by email.

The following will be removed and donated to City Mission:

• Items left on benches or inside cupboards
• Unlabelled laundry detergents

If any of these belong to you, please collect them before the clean-up to avoid losing them for good.
