Nominations are now open for the Graduate Student Member of University Council, for a two-year term from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2028.

GSA has worked hard over the past two years to secure a permanent graduate student voice on University of Melbourne Council, and we’ve achieved it. Now, it’s your opportunity to nominate, stand for election, and be elected by your fellow graduate students.

The elected student member brings graduate student perspectives directly to University Council and takes part in high-level discussions about the University’s direction, governance and priorities.

Eligible students must nominate by 12pm Friday 18 September 2026.
