Our Community Sector Management class put that idea to the test this week — literally.

The Egg Drop Challenge: design a structure that protects an egg from a fall. Simple in theory. Humbling in practice.

Some eggs survived. Some did not. But every group learned something more useful than whether their design worked, they learned how to respond when it didn't. How to assess, adapt, and try again without losing momentum.

That is not just a classroom activity. In community services management, it is one of the most important skills you can have.

AIWT has been taking its courses beyond Australian borders and our most recent international trip took us to not one, but two Study Abroad Expos in the Philippines.

In partnership with AMS Global, we connected with students and families in Pampanga and Makati: two cities, two rooms full of people asking great questions about studying in Australia and building careers here.

For many international students, the path to a qualification in Australia starts with a conversation at an event like these. We are proud to be part of those conversations — wherever they happen.

Congratulations to Piaoyang, on completing the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) at AIWT.

Individual support is one of those careers that tends to find the right people and Piaoyang is one of them. The dedication it takes to care for others, day in and day out, is not something that can be taught in a classroom alone. It has to come from within.

Piaoyang has shown that from the beginning.

Australia's aged care and disability sector needs more people with that kind of commitment. We are proud that Piaoyang is now one of them.

Congratulations to Shania, on completing the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, all the way from Esperance.

Shania completed her traineeship at Lingalonga Esperance, more than 700 kilometres from our Perth campus. Distance did not slow her down.

Receiving her certificate in Esperance, in the centre where she trained and the community she works in, is a reminder that quality vocational education does not have to mean leaving home to access it.

Tanamah completed her traineeship at Sparrows Ellenbrook North, where her director Wendy has been part of the journey from day one. Today, Wendy was there to hand Tanamah her certificate in person, exactly as it should be.

Traineeships work because of people like Wendy. Educators and directors who invest their time, expertise and encouragement into the next generation of early childhood professionals.

Congratulations to Mang, on completing the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

Many received her certificate right where she earned it, at Sudbury House, surrounded by the team she has been working alongside throughout her traineeship. Her manager Tilly was there to mark the moment, and we could not think of a better way to celebrate.

A Diploma is a significant achievement. But receiving it in the place where you have been putting the learning into practice every single day makes it mean something more.
