Starting university in a new country comes with challenges — but the right environment can make the transition smoother and more rewarding.

Ngoc Ha Ni Do (Lily), an international student from Vietnam, shares how studying at Curtin College helped her adapt to a new learning system, build confidence and prepare for success at Curtin University.

After completing her Diploma of Health Science at Curtin College, Lily is now continuing her studies in Laboratory Medicine at Curtin University.

She highlights the benefits of smaller class sizes, approachable lecturers and a supportive learning environment that helped her settle into both university life and living in Australia.

✨ What a day at Curtin Open Day! ✨

The Bentley campus was buzzing with future students, families, fun activities, and amazing energy all day long 💛 From free matcha, San Churros, cookies and custom key chains to campus tours, accommodation tours and faculty booths, there was so much to explore!

At Curtin College, we loved meeting prospective students and parents through our information session and the conversations at our booth. We shared how Curtin College supports students through diploma pathways leading directly into Curtin University, while also providing personalised academic support, student services, and a supportive learning environment designed to help students transition confidently into university life.

What an incredible two nights at Creatures on Campus ✨🐅

The Curtin campus came alive after dark as students, families, and the wider community stepped into a glowing world of larger-than-life creatures.

From roaming puppets and giant animatronics to live wildlife and immersive experiences, there was something for everyone to explore and enjoy.

Meet Daniel Rojas, a Diploma of Computing student at Curtin College 👨‍💻

He built a neural network project that generates Spanish-to-English subtitles, completely on his own.

It all started with a simple frustration - the existing translation tools weren’t accurate enough to share Spanish content with his friends. So, he decided to create his own solution.

“The biggest challenge? Integration — getting different systems to work together took weeks to figure out.”

With support from his lecturers and the opportunity to showcase his work, Daniel turned an idea into something real.

Curtin College is hosting an Exam & Study Stress Workshop in partnership with Headspace Cannington to support students with practical tools and strategies.

In this session, you’ll learn:
• What stress is and how it impacts you
• How to recognise signs and symptoms of stress
• 7 practical exam and study strategies
• Tips for maintaining a healthy headspace
• Meditation and mindfulness techniques

Big smiles, meaningful conversations, and some very special furry visitors 🐶

To celebrate World Health Day, Curtin College students enjoyed time with therapy dogs while also taking part in wellbeing sessions delivered by Curtin Safer Community, Curtin Health Services, Allianz, Headspace and Surf Life Saving WA.

It’s all about supporting our students with the tools, knowledge and moments they need to stay healthy and thrive.
