An incredible honour for a young changemaker 👏

Bachelor of Laws student and Bond Excellence Scholarship recipient Ruby Allen has been recognised at the Gold Coast council’s Australian of the Year Awards ceremony.

Ruby is the founder of Kids of Purple, a not-for-profit dedicated to supporting young people experiencing domestic and family violence. What began as an idea in high school and nurtured through Bond’s Transformer program has grown into a powerful platform for advocacy and accessible support.

Following this recognition, Ruby will now be put forward for the national Australian of the Year Awards. We’re proud to see the meaningful change she continues to drive in our community.

Last night we celebrated the conclusion of the 2026 Bond Business School Year 12 Extension Program, welcoming students and their families back to campus for our Awards Ceremony.

Seeing students recognised for their hard work, determination and academic achievement was a wonderful reminder of what this program is all about, giving young people the opportunity to challenge themselves, explore new ideas, and experience university life before they graduate school.

Congratulations to every student who completed the program, and to our scholarship and bursary recipients who were recognised on the night.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring the program to life. It has been a privilege to watch these students grow in confidence and capability over the past few months.

Our UNSW Private Law Moot team delivered a standout performance in Sydney.

After a strong set of rounds, Sarah Heptinstall, Jess Wilson and Michael Ting, reached the quarterfinals, delivering some of their best performances of the competition. While we didn’t progress to the Grand Final, the standard of advocacy on display proved we were well and truly in contention.

A special mention to Jess Wilson, who was named 2nd Best Speaker overall in an exceptionally competitive field. A remarkable achievement, particularly given she argued both Appellant and Respondent throughout the competition.

Beyond the competition, it was a great reminder of the strength of the Bond community. Spending time with alumni in Sydney, gaining perspective, advice, and a bit of post-moot celebration.

Thank you to faculty coach, Lisa Bonin, who supported the team all the way through, our mentors and those working behind the scenes to make the experience possible.

Congratulations, Bondies!

This February, Bond’s 2026 WIMUN delegation travelled from New York City to Washington, D.C., putting the world-class training of Bond's International Summitry Program (ISP) into practice.

At the WFUNA International Model United Nations Conference, our students represented various nations, tackled complex global issues, and experienced firsthand the realities of international decision-making.

Through meetings with ambassadors, UN representatives, and global leaders, they gained insights that go far beyond the classroom, building international connections, professional confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world.

We’re proud of the entire team - Holly Pallin, Lilika Yamada, Indigo Cheetham, Samara Ballinger, Sam Kenny, and Faith Cash - who incredibly achieved a clean sweep, each walking away with diplomacy awards, as well as Mark Dinnen for his instrumental support throughout the journey.
