EOI is live on Linktree! As this event is off campus, signing a waiver and completing our registration form is ESSENTIAL!

📆 Date: Saturday, 12 September 2026
⏰ Time: Meet at 1:45pm for a 2:15pm start (shorewalk 2:15pm - 4pm)
📍 Location: Meet at the Wellington Point Recreational Reserve
🚌 Transport: Limited spots available on organised transport (departing from UQ Chancellors)
💲 Cost: Free (own transport) OR $5 (MSUQ-organised transport)

👟 What to bring:
- Enclosed shoes are essential! (old fishing boots/joggers, dive booties, or gumboots) we will be walking on the mudflats with developing oyster beds, rocks, razor clams, and other hazards.
- 👕 Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty.
- Bring a hat, water bottle, and any snack you may like. We will provide some sunscreen, but feel free to bring your own.

💻 Additional info: MSUQ-organised transport placement is on a first-come-first-serve basis, so be sure to indicate on the registration form to allow time for us to contact you for payment

We have some unfortunate news to announce... 😔😔

Due to the theft of our Dunwich ARMS plates we are unable to go ahead with our usual SEQUEST Invertebrates Event. But every cloud has a silver lining and this has left us with the perfect opportunity to collaborate with our wonderful dive team for an extra special Stradbroke Island extravaganza! Join us for a shorewalk-filled adventure before diving alongside sharks and rays with the dive team! For those members that aren’t yet dive certified, rest assured! We have other marine-themed fun lined up for you to enjoy!

SEQUEST EOI will go live 12pm (midday) on Friday September 4th!
If you are diving, please also fill out the separate diving EOI in our LinkTree!
If you aren’t able to make it to SEQUEST, diving can still be done separately!

SEQUEST Invertebrates is back for Semester 2 and we’d love to have you along! This event is perfect for those who cannot do a full weekend trip, or just want to hang out and learn about cool invertebrate species for free! We will be diving in to discover all of the weird and wacky creatures that have been growing on our settlement plates over the last 6 months, and taking you along for the ride! 🪼🔬🦪

New to marine inverts? We’ve got you covered! Our SEQUEST team will teach you all there is to know about these wonderful little animals and give you some handy ID tips! Everything you see will be logged in our database to support ongoing research efforts in Moreton Bay! So come along, learn something new, and contribute to real science for the bay!
