UQFAS is a UQ Union-affiliated club based at the St Lucia campus. Our aim is to create and encourage a like-minded community of film lovers through weekly screenings and social events. We also hope to engage with Brisbane's flourishing and diverse cultural scene by organising outings to and keeping member's informed of various film-related events throughout the year.

This week UQFAS is proud to present The Innocents (2016) directed by Anne Fontaine! We’ve got a coffee & chat at Merlo at 5pm, followed by our screening at 6pm!

ā€˜Poland, 1945. Mathilde, a young French Red Cross doctor, is on a mission to help the war survivors. When a nun seeks for her help, she is brought to a convent where several pregnant sisters are hiding, unable to reconcile their faith with their pregnancy. Mathilde becomes their only hope.ā€˜

Truth is, we can’t speak other than by our paintings

UQFAS in collaboration with UQSoFA are proud to present ā€˜Loving Vincent’ (2017) tomorrow night at 6pm! Directed by Hugh & DK Welchman, the film follows the final days of renowned artist Vincent van Gogh in the world’s first fully painted animated feature film.

We’ll be meeting at 5pm at Merlo (weather permitting) to socialise, get in our caffeine and discuss all things film and impressionism. Can’t wait to see you there!

Ever watched a movie so good you wanted to EAT the food in it? It’s been 18 years since the single best culinary film of all time graced cinema screens, and to celebrate the release of Ratatouille UQFAS is proud to present: The Ratatouille Tasting Experience!

In collaboration with and we’ll be serving up a delicious four course tasting menu while you watch the film!

When : Friday, 15th of August, 7pm
Where: Steele Building 03-309

Tickets open at 3pm today and tickets will sell out fast! Members get them for $8 and non-members for $12!
