✨A recap from our Sydney Supporters Dinner event!✨

Last Thursday we had the privilege of hosting our annual Sydney Supporters Dinner which is our way of saying thank you to the alumni, friends, and supporters of RMC who continue to support our community in so many ways, whether through prayer, generosity, encouragement, or simply journeying alongside us.

It was a special evening spent gathered around the table, sharing meals, conversation, and community, while reflecting on the impact that support continues to have on life at RMC.
We also had the opportunity to hear from Abi, one of our RMC residents and current Student President, as she shared how the support of scholarships and our wider community has shaped her experience at RMC and allowed her and other scholarship recipients to invest more fully into both her studies and college life.

Moments like these remind us that support reaches far beyond financial contribution, it creates opportunities, strengthens community, and continues to shape student journeys in meaningful ways.

To everyone who joined us and continues to support RMC, thank you. We are incredibly grateful.💙

Expanding horizons beyond Australia 🌏✨

This week, Robert Menzies College hosted a Widening Experience event, where staff and students shared insights into international study opportunities, scholarships, and academic pathways overseas.

Stefan Thottunkal, a current RMC resident and Medicine student at MQ, reflected on his 2025 opportunity to study a Masters of Public Health at both Stanford University and Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab.

Assoc. Prof. Gordon Menzies also shared his academic journey completing his DPhil at Oxford University, while our Principal, Rev. Dr. Peter Davis, spoke about upcoming opportunities for overseas study and scholarships including the Ramsay Scholarship, Rhodes Trust Scholarship, Churchill Fellowship, Fulbright Program, and more.

A valuable evening of conversation, encouragement, and global perspective — reminding students that opportunities can truly take them anywhere. ✈️📚

Harrison, a second-year Bachelor of Primary Education student from Orange, received the Paul Barnett Scholarship at RMC’s Commencement Dinner🌟

Receiving the scholarship was a meaningful moment for him. “It was quite overwhelming… I was very thankful. Having that support means I can focus on my studies and be involved in all the activities that go on here at RMC.”

Gifts like the Paul Barnett Scholarship make a real difference for students like Harrison. If you’d like to support future residents, you can make a donation today: https://rmc.org.au/donate/ 🎓

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Robert Menzies College Commencement Dinner on Monday. It was a wonderful evening to celebrate the year ahead, reconnect as a community, and mark the start of another exciting chapter at RMC.

A big thank you to our keynote speaker, David Buster, for sharing your time and insights with our students and guests.

Congratulations as well to everyone who received an award or scholarship on the night. We’re proud to recognise your hard work and the contribution you’re already making to college life.

And to our freshers, this was your first formal event at RMC. Thank you for jumping in and being part of the night. We’re looking forward to seeing you at many more events throughout the year, and to sharing all that comes with life in the RMC community.

A throwback to the 2016 Commencement Dinner as we prepare for our 2026 dinner tonight. We’re excited to welcome the new cohort and celebrate the beginning of their time at Robert Menzies College.

2016 was one for the books: it was Paul Yates’ final year as Dean, and it also happened to be the year the MQ dance-off winning streak kicked off…and some memorable moments at Hyde Park.

To our 2016 alumni: where has life taken you since? We’d love to see your memories — share a story (or even a photo if you have one) in the comments, and tag friends from your year. Your reflections and advice might be exactly what our new students need to hear.

Life at Robert Menzies College is about more than where you sleep between classes.

It’s shared meals, study alongside friends, conversations that stretch late into the evening, and a community that supports students through both the challenges and joys of university life.

At RMC, students are known, supported, and encouraged - academically, socially, and personally - as they grow into the next stage of life.

Some connections last well beyond university.

Recently, we welcomed alumna Shiho, who lived at Robert Menzies College in 1997 while studying linguistics in Sydney, back to RMC, this time with her daughter Kaho.

During her visit, Shiho was able to walk through the spaces where she once lived and studied, and share those memories with her daughter — a small but meaningful reminder of the lasting impact community can have.

At RMC, students come from across Australia and around the world, but the relationships formed here often endure for decades. It’s part of what makes college life more than just accommodation, it becomes part of people’s story. rmc.org.au
