Notre Dame Sydney Law Society - NDSLS

The Official page for the Notre Dame Sydney Law Society. www.ndsls.org The NDSLS is a student run society that was established in 2007.

The society has the aim of enriching the student experience through educational, social and vocational initiatives. The Committee prides itself on delivering wonderful events for the law cohort. The NDSLS is also committed to forming strong links with firms – it is in the best interests of all involved. We aim to link the talent of the future with the employers in the legal profession, professiona

l services such as finance, accounting and consultation as well educational, public and private organisations. The NDSLS is the most active society on the University of Notre Dame, Sydney Campus. This is due to the dedication of all who are part of the NDSLS. We engage the student body to actively seek a path suitable to their goals and ensure their decisions are right for them.

2027 First Nations Legal Cadetships

Applications are now open for Gilbert + Tobin’s 2027 First Nations Cadetships in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

G+T’s First Nations Legal Cadetship Program is a fantastic introduction to life in a law firm. The program is open to First Nations law students who, in 2027, will be in their second year through to penultimate year of an undergraduate law degree, or studying a Juris Doctor at any stage of their degree.

Working one to two days per week throughout your degree, you’ll participate in a staggered program of work experience that is responsive to your level of experience, including the opportunity to work as a paralegal. Through on-the-job-learning, mentoring, structured training programs, and both internal and external events, there is no shortage of personal and professional development opportunities on offer.

This September, we’re walking together to help end violence against women and girls and support the incredible work of the Women and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC).

🏆 ACU v UNDA Contract Moot | 2026

Congratulations to our Notre Dame Sydney competitors, Riley and Olivah, on an outstanding performance and for bringing home the win for Notre Dame for this year’s Contract moot! We are incredibly proud of the way you represented the University and the NDSLS.

A special congratulations also to the ACU team competitors who put forward an incredible moot and made for a wonderful evening of advocacy and competition.

We extend our sincere thanks to St Thomas More Society for their support and for facilitating such a fantastic evening, including the reception at the Royal Automobile Club of Australia.

We are also very grateful to our esteemed judges, Justice Francois Kunc, the Hon. Robertson Wright SC and barrister Georgina Wright SC, for generously giving their time and expertise to judge the competition at the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this such a memorable evening. ⚖️
