💜🎗️ Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, we are reminded that su***de prevention is not only the responsibility of clinicians, crisis services or mental health professionals. It begins in our homes, our friendships, our mosques and our communities.
Behind every life lost is a family grieving, friends carrying their absence, and a community forever changed.
Su***de can be prevented. We do not need to lose more people to su***de.
🗣️ It is okay to ask someone directly, “Are you thinking about su***de?” Asking the question does not put the idea into someone’s mind.
🤝 Start the conversation. Ask the question. Listen without judgement. Take it seriously. Help connect them to support.
