A recap of last night, during which the gallery became Tina Stefanou’s instrument with voice channelled through scaffolding.

In dialogue with the artist’s exhibited video work ‘You Can’t See Speed’ (2025), the performance considered how sound penetrates spaces.

Presented as part of Dimension, on show until 13 June.

Swipe through for details of Dimension at SCA Gallery. Curated by Liam Garstang and Alex Gawronski, the exhibition considers the myriad implications of scale and proportion, bringing together a diversity of perspectives from the global to the parochial, the monumental to the miniscule, the unmissable to the frequently disregarded.

Tomorrow, join us for a performance by exhibiting artist Tina Stefanou from 6pm. Continuing her exploration of voice as an intermedial field and means in contemporary art, Stefanou will perform a live vocal action extending voice into architectural, material, and emotional terrains.

All welcome. 6–7pm, Wednesday 27 May.

Exhibiting Artists: Hany Armanious, Dean Cross, Alex Gawronski, Newell Harry, Biljana Jancic, Anna John, Andrew Lavery, Michelle Nikou, Jacky Redgate and Tina Stefanou.

SCA is proud to support the VADEA 2026 program, which foregrounds teacher agency, interdisciplinary learning, and the relationship between classroom practice and broader art worlds — creating space for critical dialogue across all stages of visual arts education.

Held at Liverpool Powerhouse, the conference brings together educators, artists and researchers to consider the future of visual arts education through curriculum reform, contemporary practice and new pedagogical approaches.

Don’t miss SCA’s Miguel Valenzuela joining the program, alongside SCA alumna Morgan Hogg as a keynote speaker.

‘Primary Lines’ explores light as material, working with two elemental forces, light and line. Shaped through encounter, the works unfold as perceptual fields rather than fixed objects.

Rachel is an experienced arts leader, art historian and head curator with extensive experience working with international museums and cultural institutions. Prior to her appointment at Bundanon, Rachel was the Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Australia and has presented exhibitions in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the USA, and Canada, including major solo presentations by Do Ho Suh, Doug Aitken, Cornelia Parker, Yoko Ono and Grayson Perry.

✨ Revisiting last month’s workshop and lecture with 2026 Gilbert Fellow Bonita Ely. ✨

Ely invited participants to explore the meanings projected onto keepsakes. Students used their own cherished objects as the starting point for movement-based individual and collaborative performative exercises.

The workshop examined how gesture, posture, proximity, and handling revealed relationships between people and things, and how meaning shifts as bodies moved across different contexts.
