"One moment you're sitting in the audience. The next, you're helping save an Oscar winner's concert."

That's exactly what happened to alumni Sterling Nasa (Fr 2023), whose quick thinking and musical talent played a pivotal role during a live performance by Academy Award-winning composer Justin Hurwitz, best known for the film La La Land.

When an unexpected challenge arose during the concert, Sterling stepped forward without hesitation, helping ensure the performance could continue and creating a moment that has since captured national attention.

It's a remarkable story of confidence, composure and generosity under pressure, qualities that continue to distinguish members of our College community long after they leave St Andrew's.

We are delighted to see Sterling recognised in The Sydney Morning Herald and proud to celebrate this extraordinary moment with him.

Congratulations, Sterling!

Sterling Nasa answered a call from composer-conductor Justin Hurwitz when a musician was too sick to continue.

Annual Giving 2026 is open and we wanted you to hear directly from the people leading this work.

In this film, Principal Daniel Tyler explains why the Main Library restoration matters and why now is the right moment.

"Excellence is never accidental. It is cultivated through expectation, culture and environment."

This year's campaign supports two things: the means-tested scholarships that are opening St Andrew's to students from across Australia, and the Main Library restoration that will strengthen the academic heart of the College for the next generation of Androvians.

Over 150 students received scholarship support this year. The Library investment has been made possible by this community before. The Junior Common Room showed us what a donor-funded vision can become. The Main Library is the next chapter.

A gift at any level makes a real difference. Many Androvians start at $250 or $500.

A HUGE congratulations to our Women’s Rugby 7s teams for their outstanding efforts at the 2026 Intercollegiate Rugby 7s Gala Day!

St Andrew’s proudly fielded two teams, Drew’s Blue and Drew’s White, with both sides progressing through to the quarter finals. In a testament to the depth and strength of our women’s rugby program, the two Drew’s teams faced off for a place in the semi finals.

🏆 Drew’s White, led by Secretary Lucy Clarke (Fr 2025), retained the Wayne Erickson Cup for the third consecutive year after a hard-fought final against St John’s.

A special thank you to Beau Morrison (Fr 2024) for coaching both teams throughout the competition.

Wearing the First Nations Round Jersey, proudly sponsored by the Nick van Gelder Dreamers Foundation, our players represented Drew’s with pride, showcasing skill, grit, and the spirit of the College throughout the day.

Congratulations again to everyone who competed!
