Presented by the University of Sydney, the Chancellor's Committee and Lifeline Sydney and Sutherland, proceeds support scholarships, and university wide projects.

The Great Hall Book Fair is back with a huge range of second hand titles on offer, whether you’re looking to lose yourself in a novel or pick up your next non-fiction find.

Attend the opening on Saturday 12 September to make sure you have first pick of the bunch, swing by the coffee cart, meet the bubble fairy, and soak up the amazing atmosphere on campus 🫧

Presented by the University of Sydney, the Chancellor's Committee and Sydney and Sutherland, proceeds will go to support scholarships, University‑wide projects, and Lifeline Sydney and Sutherland to provide 24-hour crisis support services.

What if bone could heal itself?

For children born with cleft lip and palate, repairing gaps in the jawbone can mean waiting until around 10 - 12 years old for invasive bone graft surgery - a procedure that has changed little in over 50 years.

Lead researcher Associate Professor Chun Xu has helped to develop a biodegradable ‘nanobone’ material that helps activate the body’s own natural healing signals, attracting bone-forming stem cells and stimulating new bone growth.

What happens when someone you love starts believing things that make them unrecognisable?

Award-winning journalist, author and documentarian Jess Hill has been named the 2026 Judy Harris Writer-in-Residence at the Charles Perkins Centre.

Working alongside CPC researchers, Hill will explore how conspiracy movements, extremist ideologies and coercive influence shape relationships, trust and wellbeing for a new work of narrative non-fiction.

Are young people being heard about their health?

New research has found young people with chronic illness were often told their symptoms were part of growing up, when the reality was a serious underlying condition requiring medical attention.

Lead researcher Dr Imogen Harper from the Sydney Centre for Healthy Societies says the research highlights how deeply held assumptions about youth can prevent young people from receiving appropriate care.
