TLK Community College
As a not-for-profit provider of adult and youth education on the NSW Central Coast, we focus on ways in which we can build the capacity of our local community to respond to a rapidly changing world – through access to learning that is designed, developed and delivered in local communities. TLK Community College has a long history o
n the Central Coast starting from two organisations. Tuggerah Lakes Community College was established in 1981 as Berkeley Vale Leisure Learning. Kincumber Community College was established in 1984 as the Quality of Life Centre. Both Colleges merged on the 1 January 2006 with classes today conducted from varying sites. The College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training sector. Commencing in 2011, the College also operates the TLK Alesco School on new premises at the College’s Berkeley Vale site. TLK Alesco School currently provides an independent, community based, non-denominational, co-educational, Board of Studies accredited Years 9 and 10 school for young people who are unable to find success in traditional educational models. As a community based organisation, the College receives support for its vocational and literacy programs from the Department of Education and Training NSW (DET). Other continuing education courses are funded entirely from students’ fees. The TLK Alesco School is supported by the NSW Board of Adult and Community Education and the Federal Department of Education, Science and Training. Our Vision
