Hello all,

It is with a heavy heart that we have unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to cancel Waite Up Late…r tomorrow evening. We are both very devastated to have to cancel, but we have not seen enough ticket sales to justify us going ahead with the night. We’d like to thank those of you that bought tickets in support of the club and those that supported us along the way. A big thankyou to the vendors and other participants for offering to showcase your wines and we hope to have you back for an event in the future. We are truly sorry.

For those of you that purchased tickets, we are in the process of organising refunds through eventbrite and we will be in touch soon.

Love from The Wine Club 💔

WAITE UP LATE ANNOUNCEMENT!
Our final announcement for the night and boy have we saved some exciting stuff to drop on you all with just over 24 hours to go!

Kies Family Wines: Established in 1985, running their quaint cellar door from a run down little cottage, once used as a Chaff Mill. Having found great success in the years after from such small/humble beginnings, Kies family wines grew their philosophy: “to not get bigger, just get better”, to focus their wine output on “quality not quantity”. They are still proudly family run, with 5 Kies family members still in the business from winemakers to viticulturalists to marketing managers!

Winter and Miller: A local guitar and vocal duo with a strong passion for not only music but also creating an ambience that is sure to pair perfectly with whatever happens to be sitting in your glass!

And from our very our Adelaide University we have Mitch Fitzpatrick, Jill Bauer and Paul Grbin showcasing their respective wines from Hills Collide, Jilly Bauer Wines, and the University of Adelaide wine label.

WAITE UP LATE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Another couple of ex Viti students coming along to show off their post graduation skills!

J&S Fielke: Jemma and Steve met whilst studying Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Adelaide, located in the shadows of the Hills they grew up in. The rolling hills which comprise our wine region consists of a wide range of meso-climate. Our goal is to work within vineyards from across the landscape to produce wines which demonstrate this versatility. Dedicated, hands on viticulture paired with calculated, minimal winemaking will allow these sites to fully express their diversity.
The best wines are made with care and attention to detail to the vineyards in which they are made from. Our philosophy is no different - we utilise hand pruning using balanced, ‘soft pruning’ techniques, shoot and bunch thinning, hand weeding and rolling shoots, rather than trimming, all undertaken by us with grapevine health at front of mind.
Minimal winemaking is intervening just enough to get the best out of each parcel of fruit. Wild fermentation, whole bunch and cold soak all impart their own characters as surely as new oak or sulfur additions - the key is to use just enough to frame the fruit rather than dictate it.

WAITE UP LATE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Four days to go and as promised, another guest announcement!

Parley Wine: Parley is an all female owned and run winery based in the Adelaide Hills. Their ethos begins with the relationships with growers and vineyards, working only with organic and biodynamic fruit and focussing on vine and soil health above all else. Their approach to winemaking is simple and a lightness of touch throughout creates wines of elegance and nuance.

Joss, Mel and Sarah started their business just after the vintage of 2020. Each of them working for various wineries in the Adelaide Hills, they got together one night, had a few cocktails and decided to put their efforts into creating something for themselves. It was an easy decision and the momentum developed quickly. By the beginning of 2021 they had a shed, some tanks and barrels and an enviable source of fruit. The rest was borrowed, trading their time and muscle for equipment and knowledge. Their first vintage in 2021 was small but significant enough sourcing 10 tonnes of fruit and expanding to 20 ton in 2022. In 2023 they grew again to 30 tonne with their wines now featured on the lists of some of Australia's finest restaurants.

Tickets to our tasting evening can be found in our bio or on our event page!

Geyer Wine Co.: David Geyer is a natural wine producer from the Barossa Valley. In an ode to ancestry, but with eyes fixed firmly on the future, he revives and nurtures the neglected vineyards of the region to produce honest, innovative and thoroughly delicious wines – an artful convergence of heritage and heresy. A young upstart but an old soul; his wines upset the establishment yet appease the palate through an emphasis on quality fruit, minimal intervention, handcrafted production and connection to all stages of the winemaking process.

WAITE UP LATE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Another guest announcement along with the first of our two live music performers to help celebrate your weekend!

Rusden Wines:
A brief overview from Rusden’s website: We believe that we are custodians of the land. Our job is to care for it as best we can and pass it down from one generation to the next. We also pass down the traditions that were taught to us by our forebears.
We tend the vineyard by hand, and more recently as our winery has grown, we adhere to traditional methods in the cellar. Our focus is on traditional Barossa varieties and blends, however we are not afraid to give different varieties a go as Australia’s wine industry is still in its infancy. Our vineyard is in Vine Vale; our terroir is deep white sand over red clay. We believe that Vine Vale is the most versatile and consistent grape growing district on the Barossa Valley floor. Our wines have a unique character with balance and structure

Eva Rundle:
Eva is the up and coming star of the live music scene in Adelaide. Her covers span a wide variety of genres and appeal to audiences of all ages. Her style is is a throwback to iconic singers and timeless sounds. She delves into a song with a keen interpretative sense, getting right down to its emotional core.

WAITE UP LATE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Aaaaand another double release to our guest list for next Friday night to help you get through the rest of the week! (And because someone may have forgot to post yesterday…)

Oliver's Taranga Vineyards:
Six generations of stubborn, competitive growers and one equally spirited winemaker- that’s the Oliver family. Living smack bang in the middle of McLaren Vale, they flourish on producing perfect parcels of fruit on their 100 hectare ‘Taranga’ property. Their collection of small batch, handcrafted wines speak of both the variety and vintage, capturing a time and place, while continuing to document the family’s ongoing 184 year relationship with the land.

Bunch Wines:
Run by Sebastian Mugford, another small batch producer whose winemaking journey started only last year releasing 3 wines (a Flaxman Valley Syrah and 2 Coonawarra Nebbiolo’s nicknamed Sebbiolo 1 & 2). Seb has learnt a lot from the past year of winemaking, and he will be a fantastic person to talk to about the perils and joys of venturing out onto your own winemaking path.

Don’t forget to pick up your tickets for the event! You can find them in our bio or on our events page!

WAITE UP LATE ANNOUNCEMENT:
A double header to start off our release of stallholders for our tasting evening!

The Enthusiast:
A label that, as the name implies, derives from strong passion to craft wine, in particular, wines that honour the essence of region through blending, both multi-vineyard, single varietal releases and also complex multi-varietal blends. For Xanthe and her father Julian, winemaking is all about blending. Their philosophy is that the sum of the whole is greater than the individual parts.

Setiono Wines:
Sam, an ex UofA winemaking student, has gone on to start her own label, ‘Setiono’. The intention behind her label is to create wines that are true expressions of the subregions they come from. She does this by being involved in every step of the process; from the vineyard management to the winemaking, through to the bottling and label design. She works with two organic sites, one in Flaxman Valley (Eden Valley) and the other in Ebenezer (Barossa Valley). From these sites, she has made two single vineyard Shiraz’s.
