My first trip abroad took me to Kathmandu, Pokhara, and the mountains of Mustang, Nepal. I went with a plan, but I wasn’t prepared for everything that came with it.

In Kathmandu, I finally met a friend I’d known online for 13 years. In Pokhara, we tried Nepali food, explored Lakeside, chased a sunrise hidden by fog at Sarangkot, and visited Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave.

Then we headed toward Mustang. The part of the journey I’d been looking forward to most. Winding mountain roads took us through Marpha to Jomsom, before an unexpected truck ride brought us to Dhumba Lake just before sunset.

But between the freezing cold and altitude sickness, our plans began to change. We had to make a decision I hadn’t imagined making when I booked that first ticket.
This film follows the beautiful moments, the mistakes, the people who helped us, and the part of traveling you can’t always prepare for. Nepal showed me how much I still want to see and how much I still have to learn.
There’s more of this journey left unfinished.
