CELL Day Celebration 2025 was held on 16 November 2025, organized by the Circle of English Language and Literature (CELL), Department of English. The programme was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. A. F. M. Aowrangazab as Chief Guest and Dr. S. M. Shoaib as Special Guest. Professor Shaswati Das served as the Convenor, and the event was chaired by Md. Azim Uddin, Assistant Professor and Chairman of the Department. The session was hosted by Hasin Misbah (5th semester) and Sumaiya Shahid (3rd semester).

The celebration featured a variety of vibrant competitions including cultural performances (singing, dancing, recitation, character impersonation and painting), Creative Writing contests (poem, short story, book review, letter writing), Language League Season 2.0, Videography, and Digital Poster Making competitions. Students from different semesters showcased their creativity and talent, and winners were awarded in each category.

The second session included a prize-giving ceremony to acknowledge the participants’ achievements and enthusiastic involvement. The programme concluded with an inspiring closing speech by Md. Azim Uddin, Chair of the event.

With Prof. Ajit Kumar Das, a veteran and scholar teacher of English Literature. I worked with him for many years in the English Department at BGC Trust University. Sir never asked to do this or that. But his composure was such that you would feel encouraged to shoulder any responsibility for him.

BGC Trust University Bangladesh celebrated Shakespeare Day 2025 on 23rd April 2025, honoring the birth and enduring literary legacy of the world-renowned playwright William Shakespeare.Organized by CELL(Circle of English Language and Literature), the event aimed to foster appreciation for classical literature and encourage creative expression among students.

The day featured dramatic performances of iconic Shakespearean scenes, poetry recitations, public speaking on topic"What if Shakespeare were born in Bangladesh" and a quiz competition on Shakespeare’s life and works. Students of English department actively participated, showcasing their literary talents and passion for drama.

The program was inaugurated by a welcome tune"Shall I compare thee with summer's day". The event was graced by several distinguished guests. The Chief Guest was Professor Dr. A. F. M. Aowrangazab, Honorable Vice Chancellor of BGCTUB. The Special Guest was Dr. Mohit Ul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Premier University and Former Vice Chancellor, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University. Other esteemed guests included Professor Dr. Md. Hazrat Ali Miah, Treasurer (In-Charge), BGCTUB, and Dr. S. M. Shoaib, Registrar (In-Charge), BGCTUB.
The program was convened by Professor Shaswati Das and the session was chaired by Md. Azim Uddin, Chairman in charge, Department of English. Faculty members of the department were also present, adding to the academic and cultural significance of the occasion.
