​২৩ মে, ২০২৬ তারিখ চট্টগ্রামের কাজির দেউড়িস্থ 'ব্র্যাক লার্নিং সেন্টার'-এ ব্র্যাক ইন্সটিটিউট অব স্কিলস ডেভেলপমেন্ট (BRAC ISD) ও ক্যারিয়ার হাব (Career Hub)-এর যৌথ উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত "Teachers' Meetup" ও মতবিনিময় সভায় আমন্ত্রিত অতিথি হিসেবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন পোর্ট সিটি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটির (PCIU) একটি উচ্চপর্যায়ের প্রতিনিধি দল।

​দেশের তরুণ সমাজকে দক্ষ জনশক্তিতে রূপান্তর, ক্যারিয়ার উন্নয়ন এবং কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ সৃষ্টির লক্ষ্যে ব্র্যাকের বিভিন্ন বিশেষ প্রকল্প নিয়ে এই সভায় ফলপ্রসূ আলোচনা করা হয়।

Industrial Visit of the Students of Department of Textile Engineering, Port City International University to Bismillah Fabrics Ltd., Modern Group

The students of BTE-29-D (WPE+FME)-D and BTE-33-E batches of the Department of Textile Engineering, Port City International University visited Bismillah Fabrics Ltd., Modern Group located at Shakpura, Boalkhali, Chattogram on May 12 and 13, 2026. The industrial visit was accompanied by respected faculty members of the Department of Textile Engineering.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to observe various sections of the factory including Store, Knitting (Warp & Weft Knitting), Dyeing, Printing and Finishing sections. The visit provided the students with practical industrial exposure and helped bridge the gap between industry and academia by allowing them to experience real industrial operations closely.

At the end of the visit, the students were entertained with lunch and were also presented with diary calendars by the authority of Bismillah Fabrics Ltd., Modern Group. The factory has a well-furnished natural scenic guest area where a discussion session was organized after the completion of the visit.

During the session, Mr. Burhan Uddin Faruquee, General Manager, Bismillah Fabrics Ltd., Modern Group delivered an insightful speech regarding the industrial environment, the future prospects of the knit composite industry and the importance of industrial experience in building a successful career in the textile sector.

The visit was also accompanied by Mr. Mosharaf Hossain, Manager (HR), Bismillah Fabrics Ltd., Modern Group along with the Assistant General Manager of the company. They shared valuable insights about factory operations and industrial practices with the students.
Finally, on behalf of the university, the respected faculty members expressed sincere gratitude to the factory authorities for their warm hospitality, cooperation and valuable guidance throughout the industrial visit.

Assistant Professor Ataus Samad Raju of Port City International University arranged an industrial field tour for the JRN-35 batch to provide practical knowledge about Bangladesh’s economy and industrial activities.
The students visited the MAK Corporation ship recycling yard, a government-certified green yard that follows the Hong Kong model of ship recycling. Yard authorities guided the students through different sections of the facility and explained the recycling process. Students also interviewed officers and workers for their assignment reports. The Port City family expresses sincere gratitude to the yard authority for their cooperation. (Photography inside the yard was strictly prohibited.)
The batch also visited Digital Accessories Industries Ltd., one of the country’s major importers of garment machinery. The visit was arranged by the BTE-30-E batch student Israt Sultana, who is currently serving as an Import Manager at the company. We sincerely thank her for the invitation and support.

PCDF successfully completed its 1st Public Speaking Workshop

Despite many challenges, our dedicated team worked hard to make this event successful. Special thanks to our respected university authority, speakers, magician, sponsor , and all participants for their support and active presence.

A workshop on Drone Photography and Videography was held at Port City International University (PCIU) on May 19, 2026, organized by PCIU Media Club, a club under the department of Jounalism & Media Studies.
The workshop shed light on the use, operation and effective application of drones in journalism and advertising. Traineers Moinul Islam Bappy (Founder), Md Rezwan Muhtadi Rohan (TO) from Drone Baba, a drone making and operating organization in Chatagram, explained the different applications of drones and specially highlighted the importance of using drones in advertising, digital storytelling and journalism at the workshop.
​ The event was graced by Professor Dr. Mohammad Tayub Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of PCIU as chief guest. In his speech, he emphasized the initiative as highly commendable as drone technology is becoming increasingly essential in modern journalism. He also stated the importance of preparing young people to become skilled and responsible citizens for the future.
Among others, ​ Professor Mainul Hasan Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Social science and Law, Professor Dr. Ganesh Chandra Roy, Director, IQAC, Dr. Syed Enayet Karim, Additional Director, IQAC, Mr. Obaydur Rahman, Registrar, Md. Selim Hossain, Controller of Examination, Ms. Dilruba Akter, Chairman, Journalism & Media Studies, respected teachers and students of Journalism & Media Studies were also present at the event. Moreover, the workshop was presided over by Sourav Majumdar, President and moderated by Kazi Md. Saiful Hasan, General Secretary of PCIU Media Club.
The workshop included a drone exhibition, initial drone training, and practical sessions. In the end, the main attraction of the workshop was the flight of Bangladesh's largest drone carrying the flags of the university and the media club.
