The ICT Cell, CU is pleased to inform that invitations for DataCamp Classroom & DataLab Access have now been successfully sent to more than 11,000 students through their institutional email addresses.

Students are advised to carefully follow the instructions below to ensure proper access and future certification eligibility.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS

1. Check Your Institutional Email: Students must regularly check their institutional email inbox (and spam/junk folder if necessary) for the official DataCamp invitation email.

2. Accept the Invitation First: Students must first accept the classroom invitation sent through email before attempting to access the platform.

3. Create a DataCamp Account (If Required): If a student does not already have a DataCamp account, they must create one using their institutional email address.

4. ***Use Proper Full Name: Students are strongly advised to update and save their correct full name in their DataCamp profile settings.

*** Certificates generated by the platform will use the profile name currently set in the account. Incorrect or incomplete names may result in certificates being issued improperly.

5. Start Exploring the Platform:

The ICT Cell, CU is pleased to announce that students under the institutional DataCamp Classroom initiative will receive free premium educational access to DataCamp, one of the world’s leading learning platforms for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Programming, and Analytics.

IMPORTANT CLASSROOM POLICIES
a) Students must actively complete their learning activities during the access period (20 May 2026 – 05 October 2026).

c) Students remaining inactive for 20 consecutive days will be removed from classroom access.
d) No recommendations, requests, or justifications will be accepted for regaining access after removal due to inactivity.

CLASSROOM RENEWAL POLICY
The ICT Cell will review classroom activity every 6 months.
During each new session:
• Most active learners will be reinvited
• New eligible students will also be invited
This policy is intended to ensure proper utilization of institutional educational resources.

Eligible students will receive classroom invitations and access instructions through their institutional email addresses.

Update on Microsoft 365 A1 License Distribution for Students:

The ICT Cell, CU is pleased to inform that Microsoft 365 Education A1 licenses have been successfully provided to more than 10,000 students through their institutional email accounts.

Students who have received their institutional email IDs after 25 April will be provided with the license shortly. They are advised to regularly check their institutional email inbox for updates and activation access.

Please note that no separate application is required for obtaining the Microsoft 365 student license. Once a student receives their official institutional email account, the license will be automatically assigned within approximately 7 working days. They will be notified via their institutional email only.

Students are encouraged to use these services for academic productivity, collaboration, and learning purposes under Microsoft 365 Education A1.

Update on Microsoft Office 365 A1 License Distribution (27 April, 2026):

The ICT Cell, CU is pleased to inform that Microsoft Office 365 A1 licenses have already been successfully provided to more than 5,000 students.

The remaining distributions are currently in progress and are expected to be completed by 1st May 2026. Students are advised to regularly check their institutional email accounts for license notifications and activation instructions.

Initial Guidelines for Students:

After receiving the license and logging in for the first time, students are advised to follow these steps to begin using the services effectively under Microsoft Office 365:

1) Account Activation

a. Log in using your temporary credentials and change the password.
b. Complete any required verification steps
c. Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (if prompted)

2) Explore Office Web Applications

a. Access Word, Excel, and PowerPoint online
b. Start creating and saving academic documents
c. Use OneNote for organized note-taking

3) Set Up OneDrive

a. Open OneDrive from the dashboard
b. Verify your cloud storage allocation
c. Upload and organize your academic files

4) Get Started with Teams

a. Open Microsoft Teams
b. Explore chat, meetings, and collaboration features

Update on Microsoft Office 365 A1 License Distribution for Students:

The ICT Cell, CU is pleased to inform that the rollout of Microsoft Office 365 A1 licenses for students has officially commenced today.

Under this initiative, approximately 1,000 students per day will be provided with the license, following an alphabetical order based on student names. The license will be delivered directly to students through their institutional email addresses.

Each assigned license will remain valid for a period of 7 years.

Through this license, students will be able to access the following services under Microsoft Office 365 A1 Plan:

1) Office Web Applications
a. Word Online
b. Excel Online
c. PowerPoint Online
d. OneNote
e. Microsoft Forms

2) OneDrive for Business
a. Up to 100 GB personal cloud storage
b. Secure file storage with version history

3) Microsoft Teams
a. Online classes and meetings
b. Collaboration and communication tools

4) Additional Tools
a. Microsoft Fabric (Free tier) for data analytics
b. Power Apps (Developer) for application development
c. Power Automate for workflow automation

Students are advised to regularly check their institutional email inbox for license notifications and activation instructions.

Following the completion of system maintenance, the institutional email application form is now available again.

From now on, all students can apply for their institutional email ID through a single platform. There is no longer any requirement to print the form or collect signatures from the department chairman.

Upon submission:

1) A copy of the completed form will be sent to the student’s email. The ICT Cell will process and provide the institutional email ID within 48 working hours or even less.

2) All valid students are now eligible to apply through this streamlined process.

Update on Institutional Email ID Distribution (4th April 2026)

The ICT Cell, CU is pleased to inform that institutional email accounts have been successfully provided to students of the most junior academic batches (1st and 2nd year) under Phase 2 of the distribution program.

Following the completion of Phase 1, students from 53 departments/institutes who submitted their information subsequently have also been provided with their institutional email IDs based on the prescribed form.

In total, nearly 4,000 students have been facilitated with institutional email IDs across Phase 1 and Phase 2.

With this, the ICT Cell has successfully completed Phase 2 distribution of institutional email IDs for 1st and 2nd year students. Students who submitted their information late will be accommodated in the next processing cycle and will receive their institutional email IDs accordingly.

Please note that, due to system maintenance, the submission form will remain temporarily unavailable for a few days. The form will be made available again once maintenance activities are completed.

Furthermore, the ICT Cell is working towards a streamlined process whereby students will soon be able to access their institutional email IDs without the need to physically visit the ICT Cell.

আইসিটি সেল, চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জানাচ্ছে যে, ১ম ও ২য় বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ইমেইল আইডি বিতরণের ফেজ–২ কার্যক্রম সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।

ফেজ–১ সম্পন্ন হওয়ার পর, নির্ধারিত ফরমের মাধ্যমে পরবর্তীতে তথ্য জমা প্রদানকারী ৫৩টি বিভাগ/ইনস্টিটিউটের শিক্ষার্থীদেরও তাদের প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ইমেইল আইডি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

ফেজ–১ ও ফেজ–২ মিলিয়ে মোট প্রায় ৪,০০০ শিক্ষার্থীকে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ইমেইল আইডি প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

এর মাধ্যমে ১ম ও ২য় বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ইমেইল আইডি বিতরণের ফেজ–২ কার্যক্রম সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। যেসব শিক্ষার্থী দেরিতে তথ্য জমা দিয়েছেন, তাদের তথ্য পরবর্তী প্রক্রিয়াকরণ পর্যায়ে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করে ইমেইল আইডি প্রদান করা হবে।

অনুগ্রহ করে অবগত থাকুন যে, সিস্টেম রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের (maintenance) কারণে নির্ধারিত ফরমটি কয়েক দিনের জন্য সাময়িকভাবে বন্ধ থাকবে। রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ কার্যক্রম শেষ হলে ফরমটি পুনরায় চালু করা হবে।
