On 8th May 2026, around 45 students from the Department of Economics, Southeast University, visited the Centre for Community Development Assistance (CCDA) as part of their Health Economics course field trip under the supervision of course teacher Shuktara Khanom (Lecturer). The visit was also joined by Dr. Wasim Akram (Assistant Professor) and Rifah Tasfia Ishadi (Lecturer), who accompanied and encouraged the students throughout the program.
CCDA, a non-profit development organization working across 12 districts of Bangladesh, walked the students through their ongoing programs in healthcare, microenterprise development, WASH initiatives, and community mobilization. The session gave students a firsthand look at how development economics functions on the ground, beyond what textbooks can offer. A Q&A session followed, giving students the chance to ask CCDA representatives directly about their work and impact.
The visit offered our students a valuable opportunity to connect classroom theory with on-the-ground development practice.
