🌿 Stamford YES Forum Recognized by Transparency International Bangladesh

We are delighted and proud to share that Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has acknowledged the day-long program organized by the Stamford YES Forum, featuring an anti-corruption photography exhibition, discussion session, quiz competition, and several other engaging activities focused on promoting integrity, transparency, and awareness among the students and community.

We are especially proud to mention that Dr. Mahmuda Parvin, Chairman, Department of Environmental Science, Stamford University Bangladesh, serves as the Convener of the Stamford YES Forum and successfully carried out her responsibilities in organizing and coordinating this impactful initiative.

‘অর্থ পাচার ও প্রতিরোধ ব্যবস্থা’ শীর্ষক আলোচনা সভা

স্টামফোর্ড ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশের পরিবেশ বিজ্ঞান বিভাগের শিক্ষকবৃন্দ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ‘YES Forum’-এর আয়োজনে ‘অর্থ পাচার ও প্রতিরোধ ব্যবস্থা’ শীর্ষক এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা সভায় আমন্ত্রিত অতিথি হিসেবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। আলোচনা সভাটি গত ২৫ আগস্ট ২০২৬ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অডিটোরিয়ামে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।আলোচনা সভার সাথে দুর্নীতি বিরোধী আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনীও সবার নজর কেড়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখেন স্টামফোর্ড ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশের মাননীয় উপাচার্য ড. শরীফ নাফে আস-সাবের। সভার মুখ্য আলোচক হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন দুর্নীতি দমন কমিশনের পরিচালক এ এস এম সাজ্জাদ হোসেন। এছাড়া ট্রান্সপারেন্সি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বাংলাদেশ (টিআইবি)-এর প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখেন মো. আতিকুর রহমান, কোঅর্ডিনেটর, সিভিক এনগেজমেন্ট।

অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন YES Forum উপদেষ্টা ড. মাহমুদা পারভীন, চেয়ারপারসন, পরিবেশ বিজ্ঞান বিভাগ। শুভেচ্ছা বক্তব্য রাখেন স্টামফোর্ড ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশের স্টুডেন্টস ওয়েলফেয়ারের উপদেষ্টা তামান্না জেরিন।

আলোচনা সভায় অর্থ পাচারের বিভিন্ন কারণ, এর সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক প্রভাব এবং অর্থ পাচার প্রতিরোধে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের প্রয়োজনীয়তা নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এ ধরনের সচেতনতামূলক আয়োজন শিক্ষার্থী ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিবারের মধ্যে দুর্নীতিবিরোধী মূল্যবোধ ও দায়িত্বশীল নাগরিকত্বের চেতনা জাগ্রত করতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।

🎓 Thesis Defence Session | Department of Environmental Science

The Department of Environmental Science, Stamford University Bangladesh, successfully organized a Thesis Defence Session on 20th August 2026 for its students from both Masters (MES) and Undergraduate (ENV) Programs, providing them with an excellent opportunity to present their research findings, receive valuable academic feedback, and demonstrate their scholarly achievements.

The session was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamruzzaman Majumder, Dean, Faculty of Science; Dr. Mahmuda Parvin, Chairman, Department of Environmental Science, and the respected faculty members who are involved in the Defence committee of the department.

The faculty members shared their valuable insights, constructive comments, and thoughtful suggestions with the students, contributing to the enhancement of their research and academic development.

Heartiest congratulations to all the students on successfully completing their thesis defence. We wish them continued success in their academic and professional journeys. 🌿🎓

The Department of Environmental Science successfully organized a wonderful seminar on “Study in Japan: Opportunities for Research & Higher Studies.”

It was an inspiring and insightful session filled with valuable knowledge, meaningful discussions, and exciting possibilities for our academic journey.

We are especially grateful to our distinguished guest speaker, Professor Dr. Shinjiro Ogita, Department of Development of Local Resources, Dean, Faculty of Bioresource Science, Prefectural University of Hiroshima, Shobara, Japan, for sharing his valuable insights, experiences, and guidance on research and higher studies in Japan. 🇯🇵🎓

Special thanks to our honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sharif N. AS-Saber, Program Coordinator and Chairman of the Department of Environmental Science, Dr. Mahmuda Parvin, and Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamruzzaman Majumdar, for their valuable presence and support.

The program was skillfully moderated by Dr. Tanziman Ara, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science.
