BRAC University proudly congratulates UIU Mars Rover Team, BRACU Mongol-Tori, and MIST Mongol Barota on their outstanding achievements.

With United International University (UIU) securing 3rd place globally and the Best Autonomous System Award, BRACU ranking 7th, and Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) placing 11th, these accomplishments showcase the talent, creativity, and determination of Bangladesh’s young engineers.

New possibilities, shared ambitions. 🇧🇩🤝🇯🇵

BRAC University Vice-Chancellor Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar recently visited Iwate University in Japan as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international academic partnerships based on mutual interest and shared priorities.

During the visit, Professor Anwar met with Iwate University Vice President Yoshiro Yamamoto and senior representatives from relevant faculties and academic units. The discussions focused on areas of mutual strength, particularly agriculture, life sciences, sustainability, student and researcher mobility, and opportunities for meaningful institutional cooperation.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for both universities to better understand each other’s academic strengths, research priorities, and shared commitment to addressing societal and global challenges through education and knowledge creation.

BRAC University looks forward to building on this engagement and working with Iwate University toward mutually beneficial collaboration in the years ahead.

A Vision for Change, Recognized Across Asia 🌍

Long before international recognition, Nafira Nayeem Ahmad had a simple goal: to create opportunities for communities that are often overlooked.

At just 16, she founded Amplitude. Today, the initiative has impacted more than 98,000 people across Bangladesh through its work with underprivileged and marginalized communities, according to sources.

Now, the BRAC University student has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 list in the Social Impact category—an acknowledgment of the difference one person can make when purpose is turned into action.

What if an abandoned jute mill could become a place for people, culture, nature, and new possibilities once again? 🌿

That vision has now earned global recognition for BRAC University architecture graduate Fatiha Tanjim Oni. Her thesis project, “Beyond Rediscovery: Reclaiming Alijan Jute Mill as a Living Productive Landscape,” received the WA Award Cycle 53 from the World Architecture Community.

The project reimagines the historic Alijan Jute Mill in Narsingdi as a worker-centered, river-resilient, and culturally vibrant space — where heritage, housing, production, and public life coexist. Instead of preserving the past as a memory alone, the project brings it back to life for communities and future generations.

From BRAC University classrooms to robotic labs at the University of Pennsylvania — Md Rakibul Hasan is showing how curiosity can travel far and create real-world impact. 🚀

The BRAC University alumnus and former Lecturer graduated with Distinction and a perfect 4.00 CGPA in Robotics and Autonomous Systems from Penn’s Stuart Weitzman School of Design. His work explores how robots, materials, and design can come together to shape smarter and more sustainable ways of building for the future.

One of his innovations is even moving toward patent registration 👀
And the journey continues — Rakibul has now also been appointed as a Teaching Assistant at Penn. 💙
