Earlier this week, our telescopes spotted 3I/ATLAS, a comet that originated from interstellar space.

This comet poses no threat to Earth: it'll come no closer than 150 million miles (240 million km) on its tour through the solar system. (That's about one and a half times the distance between Earth and the Sun.) It *is*, however, a rare opportunity to study a unique object, and should remain visible to ground-based telescopes until it passes too close to the Sun to observe in September.

Dihedral & Anhedral Wings !

Aircraft wings aren’t always flat. They’re often angled upward (dihedral) or downward (anhedral) from the fuselage to influence roll stability—crucial for safe and efficient flight.

How it works:

* Dihedral angle (wings tilted upward): Improves lateral stability, especially in commercial and general aviation aircraft. When the aircraft rolls due to turbulence, dihedral helps it self-correct back to level flight.

* Anhedral angle (wings tilted downward): Reduces stability but increases maneuverability. Used in high-performance fighter jets where rapid rolling is necessary.

Key focus points:
* Dihedral = stability (e.g., Boeing 737, Airbus A320)
* Anhedral = agility (e.g., Sukhoi Su-27, F-4 Phantom)
* Wing angle is carefully chosen based on the aircraft’s role and flight envelope
* Some aircraft use a combination—dihedral on outer wings, anhedral on inner wings (e.g., C-5 Galaxy)
