University of Asia Pacific (UAP) was established in 1996 as a private university under the Private University Act 1992, with a vision to enhance the opportunities for higher education. Its curriculum h

as been approved by The University Grants Commission of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. the first semester of classes, in 1996, and offered four-year bachelor degree programs in Computer Science and Technology and Business Administration only. Now UAP offers undergraduate programs in Architecture, Business Administration, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Pharmacy. UAP has been sponsored by University of Asia Pacific Foundation, a non-profit, non-commercial organization based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The principal aim of the Foundation is to promote human and social development through, inter alia, improved educational opportunities, innovative educational programs relevant to the needs of an emerging society and to develop skills, know how and awareness of the youth through appropriate institutional means. The foundation has been established by a group of eminent educationists, industrialists and administrators who share the same vision and social commitments. The University of Asia Pacific is the first project of the foundation aimed at realizing these noble goals.

The UAP Drama Club, in collaboration with the Directorate of Studentsโ€™ Welfare (DSW), organized a workshop titled โ€œDeveloping the Skills of Stage Presence โ€“ Fall 2025โ€, which was successfully held on 8 and 9 May 2026 at the UAP Auditorium.
The two-day workshop brought together enthusiastic students and theatre lovers with the aim of developing acting abilities, confidence, communication skills, and overall stage performance techniques. The sessions featured experienced theatre professionals as trainers and focused on practical exercises, interactive discussions, voice projection, body language, emotional expression, improvisation, and stage confidence.
On the first day, the workshop was conducted by Dhiman Chandra Barman, who shared valuable insights on stage movement, character expression, and the fundamentals of theatrical performance. Through practical demonstrations and engaging activities, participants gained a better understanding of stage presence and audience interaction.
The second dayโ€™s session was led by Nowrin Sazzad, who emphasized confidence building, vocal delivery, emotional connection, and performance techniques. Participants actively engaged in group exercises and performances under her guidance, making the session both lively and educational.
The workshop created an inspiring learning environment for aspiring performers and provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience to enhance their theatrical and communication skills.

The UAP Basketball Club, under the Directorate of Studentsโ€™ Welfare (DSW), successfully organized the Inter-Department Basketball Tournament Fall 2025, held from April 9 to April 15, 2026. The tournament brought together students from various departments, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition.
The inauguration ceremony took place on April 9, 2026, at the university premises, marking a new milestone as the tournament was hosted at a new venue for the first time. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Sheikh Anwar Hossain, Treasurer of UAP; Brigadier General (Retd.) Prof. Dr. A. K. M. Nazrul Islam, Registrar of UAP; and Mr. Mohammad Rakiv, Acting Director of DSW. The ceremony featured inspiring speeches, a cake-cutting segment, a flash mob performance, and an exciting alumni versus students exhibition match, followed by a cultural program.
The tournament officially commenced on April 11, 2026, with participation from multiple departments. After a series of competitive matches, the top teams advanced to the knockout stages. The semi-finals, held on April 12, showcased high-intensity performances and led to a thrilling final between the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and the Department of Business Administration (DBA).
In addition to the main tournament, several special segments were organized, including the Queen of the Court competition, Fancy Layup Contest, and Free Throw Shooting Segment, highlighting individual talents and encouraging broader student participation.
The grand finale was held on April 15, 2026, drawing a large and enthusiastic audience. The closing and prize-giving ceremony was attended by eminent guests, including Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha, Proctor of UAP; Ar. Ziaul Islam, Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA); Mr. A. H. M. Zadidul Karim, Head and Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE); along with other respected faculty members and officials.
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) emerged as the Champion, while the Department of Business Administration (DBA) secured the Runner-up position. The Department of Pharmacy won the Queen of the Court segment. Mahedi Hasan Shuvo (EEE) was awarded Man of the Tournament for his outstanding performance throughout the competition.
In his closing remarks, the Acting Vice Chancellor appreciated the participants for their dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship, emphasizing the importance of such co-curricular activities in holistic student development. The UAP Basketball Club and DSW were also commended for their successful organization of the event.
The tournament was successfully conducted under the supervision of the Adviser of the UAP Basketball Club, Mr. Md. Masrur Mamun Hossain, Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture.

The Pharmacy Cultural Club (PCC), Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific, successfully organized the much-anticipated โ€œPharma Cultural Evening 2026โ€ on May 19, 2026, bringing together students, faculty members, and staff for an evening filled with entertainment, creativity, and celebration. Following the success of its inaugural edition, the event once again reflected the vibrant cultural spirit and creativity of the Department of Pharmacy.

The program was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Selim Reza, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka; Professor Dr. Elias Al Mamun, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka; Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor, University of Asia Pacific (UAP); Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean, School of Pharmacy, UAP; and Professor Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head, Department of Pharmacy, UAP. The event was also attended by the faculty members of the Department of Pharmacy, UAP.

The event featured an exciting array of performances and activities, including energetic dance performances, soulful musical presentations, and a specially curated Pharma News segment, which added both informative and entertaining dimensions to the program. One of the major highlights of the evening was the drama performance, which captivated the audience with its engaging storyline and creative presentation.

Adding further excitement to the celebration, faculty members enthusiastically participated in several fun-filled games and interactive activities, creating moments of laughter and enjoyment among the audience. The event not only provided students with a platform to showcase their talents and creativity but also strengthened the sense of unity, cooperation, and camaraderie within the department.

The Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), organized an industrial visit to Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC, Bhaluka, Mymensingh, on May 20, 2026, as part of its continuous effort to provide students with practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality systems. A total of 44 students participated in the visit, accompanied by five faculty members: Prof. Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head of the Department; Prof. Dr. Irin Dewan; A.H.M. Nazmul Hasan; Mohammad Ashraful Islam; and S. M. Rakibul Hossain.
Beacon Pharmaceuticals PLC holds a distinguished position in the pharmaceutical sector of Bangladesh, particularly for its strong contribution to oncology medicines and specialized pharmaceutical products. The company is widely known for its focus on advanced manufacturing, product innovation, and the development of high-quality medicines for both local and international markets. Its official profile highlights Beacon as a leading oncology-focused pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh with a broad product portfolio and global presence.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to observe key areas of pharmaceutical operations, including the Solid Manufacturing Unit, Quality Control Department, and Warehouse. Each section offered a meaningful learning experience and helped the students understand how different departments work together to ensure the production, testing, storage, and distribution of quality medicines.
At the Solid Manufacturing Unit, students observed the practical aspects of large-scale dosage form production. The visit helped them visualize important steps involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing and understand the importance of process control, hygiene, documentation, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
The visit to the Quality Control Department was particularly valuable for understanding how pharmaceutical products are tested and verified before release. Students gained insight into the role of analytical procedures, quality parameters, laboratory discipline, and regulatory requirements in maintaining the safety, efficacy, and consistency of medicines.
The students also visited the warehouse facility, where they learned about material storage, inventory control, proper handling of pharmaceutical products, and the importance of maintaining suitable storage conditions. This part of the visit helped them appreciate the role of warehouse management in preserving product quality throughout the supply chain.
The industrial visit created a valuable bridge between classroom learning and real pharmaceutical practice. By observing manufacturing, quality control, and storage activities directly, students were able to relate their academic knowledge to the professional standards followed in the pharmaceutical industry.

The Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), organized an industrial visit to Incepta Pharmaceuticals PLC, Zirabo, Dhaka, on May 7, 2026, with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to modern pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control practices, and industrial operations. A total of 40 students participated in the visit, accompanied by five faculty members: Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean, School of Pharmacy; Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head of the Department; Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman; Ms. Mahjabeen Gazi; and Mr. S. M. Rakibul Hossain.

During the visit, the UAP Pharmacy team explored several key operational units of Incepta Pharmaceuticals PLC. The students visited the Biotechnology Unit, where they observed different aspects of insulin manufacturing and gained valuable insights into advanced biopharmaceutical production processes. This experience provided them with a clearer understanding of the specialized techniques, controlled environments, and regulatory considerations involved in biotech-based pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The students also visited the Solid Manufacturing Unit, where they observed large-scale production activities related to solid dosage forms. The visit enabled them to relate classroom knowledge of pharmaceutical technology, production processes, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to real industrial applications. In addition, the team visited the Quality Control Department, where they learned about analytical testing, quality assurance procedures, and the importance of maintaining product safety, efficacy, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The visit also included a tour of the warehouse facility, allowing students to understand the importance of proper storage, inventory management, documentation, and supply chain control in the pharmaceutical industry.

This hands-on industrial exposure helped students connect theoretical concepts with practical pharmaceutical operations, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, quality control, biotechnology, warehouse management, and regulatory compliance. Such experiential learning initiatives play an important role in preparing pharmacy students for professional careers in the pharmaceutical sector.

An industrial visit was conducted at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, for the final-year BBA students majoring in Finance and Accounting from the Department of Business Administration (DBA), University of Asia Pacific (UAP). The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical academic learning and practical industry exposure by providing students with firsthand experience of the operational activities of the capital market in Bangladesh.

A total of 34 students, accompanied by 4 faculty members, participated in the visit. Upon arrival, the students and faculty members were warmly welcomed by the officials of the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

The training session was conducted by Mr. Syed Al Amin Rahman, DGM & Head of DSE Training Academy (DTA), DSE. During the session, he explained the overall structure and activities of the capital market in Bangladesh, including stock trading procedures, settlement periods, investment mechanisms, classification of listed securities, investor participation, risk management practices, and the role of regulatory authorities in maintaining market stability.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students actively engaged with DSE officials through discussions on stock market operations, investment opportunities, financial analysis, and career prospects in the financial sector. The interaction provided valuable practical insights into the countryโ€™s capital market and its evolving dynamics.

Later, the faculty members held a meeting with the Head of the DSE Training Academy to discuss potential future collaboration opportunities between the University of Asia Pacific and the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

The industrial visit also encouraged students to connect the theoretical concepts learned in courses such as FIN 411 โ€“ International Finance, ACN 415/FIN 413 โ€“ Financial Statement Analysis & Reporting, and FIN 401 โ€“ Corporate Finance with real-world financial market practices.

The visit was guided by the participation and supervision of faculty members Mr. Mohammad Rakiv, Assistant Professor, DBA, UAP; Dr. Nazreen Tabassum Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, DBA, UAP; Mr. Mohammad Aminul Islam, Assistant Professor, DBA, UAP; and Ms. Rubaba Nazneen Noor, Assistant Professor, DBA, UAP.

Ms. Deneb Zeenat Latif, Consultant and Organizational Development Specialist, conducted the insightful session. Mr. Alamzeb Farjad Ahmed, Sr. Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, UAP; Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Vice Chancellor, and Mr. Mohammad Rakiv, Acting Director, DSW, along with UAP officials, students were present at the program.

The session inspired students through engaging discussions on leadership, adaptability, and continuous learning.
