Safeguarding Awareness Training Session at BUBT
A training session on “Safeguarding Awareness against Gender-Based Violence, Sexual Harassment and Bullying through Policy, Procedures, and Work Instructions” was held today at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), organized under the BRAC SHIKHA Project, as per the instruction of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of BUBT.
Employees from the HR and Admin offices of BUBT participated in the session, which aimed to strengthen awareness and understanding of safeguarding practices and promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment within the university community.
The session was inaugurated with an insightful speech by Prof. Dr. Syed Sarfaraj Hamid, Dean, Faculty of Law, BUBT. The training was subsequently conducted by Mr. Rashed Uz Zaman Bhuiyan, Senior Specialist, Social Compliance, Social Compliance Programme, BRAC, and Mr. Abdullah Al Mamun, Senior Specialist, Social Compliance, Social Compliance Programme, BRAC.
The session provided valuable insights into the prevention and addressing of gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and bullying, with emphasis on relevant policies, procedures, work instructions, and the shared responsibility of employees in fostering a safe and dignified environment.
The initiative reflects the commitment of BUBT and BRAC SHIKHA to promote awareness, professional integrity, respect, safety, and inclusivity in institutional environments.
