The Department of Law at the State University of Bangladesh organized a vibrant and memorable Course Completion Day Programme for the students of LL.B. (Hon’s), Batch 41, on 23rd April 2026.
The event was held in a festive atmosphere, with the venue beautifully decorated with colorful balloons, creating a perfect blend of celebration and nostalgia.

The program was graced by the presence of all faculty members of the Department of Law, which made the occasion even more special and meaningful for the graduating students. Their presence symbolized support, pride, and encouragement for the outgoing batch.
A major highlight of the programme was the inspiring speech delivered by Professor Asif Nazrul, who motivated the students to uphold the values of justice, integrity, and professionalism in their future legal careers.

Assistant Professor Sazzad Alam also addressed the students, offering valuable guidelines and practical advice to help them transition smoothly from academic life to professional practice. His speech focused on career development, ethical responsibility, and the importance of continuous learning.

The event also featured heartfelt moments as students shared their experiences, cherished memories, and personal journeys throughout their academic years. These reflections created a strong emotional connection among the students and faculty members.

The theme of the event, beautifully displayed on the banner—“Inspiring Future Advocates of Justice”—perfectly captured the spirit of the day. It reflected the department’s strong commitment to nurturing competent, ethical, and socially responsible legal professionals.

নীরবে ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে মাইক্রোপ্লাস্টিক—অদৃশ্য এই দূষণ কি অদূর ভবিষ্যতে নারীর স্বাস্থ্য ও আগত প্রজন্মের জন্য এক গভীর সংকট হয়ে দাঁড়াবে? এই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রশ্নকে সামনে রেখে রাজধানীর মিরপুর-১৩-এ অবস্থিত ওজিএসবিএস (OGSB) হাসপাতাল প্রাঙ্গণে আয়োজন করা হয় সময়োপযোগী সেমিনার—“Microplastics & Women’s Health and Early Identification of Breast Cancer”।
স্টেট ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশের ইনস্টিটিউট অব স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট অ্যান্ড কন্টিনিউয়িং এডুকেশন (ISDCE)-এর উদ্যোগে এবং হেলথ এন্ড নিউট্রিশন অর্গানাইজেশন (HNO) ও ওজিএসবিএস হাসপাতালের সহযোগিতায় আয়োজিত এ সেমিনারে দেশের বিভিন্ন স্বনামধন্য প্রতিষ্ঠানের চিকিৎসকবৃন্দ ও বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে স্বাগত বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন সম্মানিত চেয়ারম্যান প্রফেসর ডা. ফারহানা দেওয়ান।

মূল প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন আইএসডিসিই (ISDCE)-এর পরিচালক মো. মাহমুদুর রহমান। তিনি বৈজ্ঞানিক তথ্য-উপাত্তের ভিত্তিতে মাইক্রোপ্লাস্টিকের ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব তুলে ধরেন। বিশেষ করে শিশু ও প্রজননক্ষম নারীদের স্বাস্থ্যের ওপর এর ঝুঁকি গুরুত্বসহকারে ব্যাখ্যা করেন এবং এ থেকে উত্তরণের জন্য প্লাস্টিক ব্যবহারে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি ও নিয়ন্ত্রণের ওপর জোর দেন।

দ্বিতীয় প্রবন্ধে শহীদ সোহরাওয়ার্দী মেডিকেল কলেজের সহকারী অধ্যাপক ডা. রেজওয়ানা শারমিন স্তন ক্যান্সারের প্রাথমিক শনাক্তকরণের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন। তিনি Self-Breast Examination-এর প্রয়োজনীয়তা সহজভাবে ব্যাখ্যা করে নারীদের সচেতন হওয়ার আহ্বান জানান।

পরবর্তীতে অনুষ্ঠিত প্যানেল আলোচনায় অংশগ্রহণ করেন প্রফেসর ডা. সৈয়দ মো. আকরাম হোসেন (প্রধান, অনকোলজি বিভাগ, বাংলাদেশ মেডিকেল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়), প্রফেসর ডা. ইকবাল কবির (ক্লাইমেট অ্যান্ড এনভায়রনমেন্টাল হেলথ বিশেষজ্ঞ ও সমন্বয়ক, স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ মন্ত্রণালয়) এবং ডা. আবু জামিল ফয়সাল (সিনিয়র পাবলিক হেলথ বিশেষজ্ঞ ও চেয়ারম্যান, এইচএনও)।

আলোচনায় প্রফেসর ডা. ইকবাল কবির প্রমাণভিত্তিক নীতিমালা প্রণয়নের ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন এবং বলেন, এ ধরনের নীতিনির্ধারণের জন্য প্রয়োজন শক্তিশালী গবেষণালব্ধ তথ্য, যা পোস্টগ্র্যাজুয়েট পর্যায়ে যেমন MPH, MD, FCPS প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে আরও জোরদার করা উচিত। প্রফেসর ডা. সৈয়দ মো. আকরাম হোসেন উল্লেখ করেন, নিয়মিত Self-Breast Examination স্তন ক্যান্সারের ঝুঁকি কমানোর পাশাপাশি চিকিৎসা ব্যয়ও উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে হ্রাস করতে পারে। ডা. আবু জামিল ফয়সাল যৌথভাবে গবেষণা ও অ্যাডভোকেসি কার্যক্রম শুরু করার ওপর গুরুত্ব দিয়ে বলেন, এ ধরনের সমন্বিত উদ্যোগই ভবিষ্যতে কার্যকর পরিবর্তন আনতে পারে।

আলোচনায় নারীর স্বাস্থ্যঝুঁকি, মাইক্রোপ্লাস্টিকের দীর্ঘমেয়াদি প্রভাব, প্লাস্টিক নিয়ন্ত্রণে নীতিমালা এবং ন্যানো-পার্টিকলের সম্ভাব্য ক্ষতিকর দিকগুলো নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মতামত তুলে ধরা হয়। প্যানেল সেশনটি সভাপতিত্ব ও সঞ্চালনা করেন প্রফেসর ডা. ফারহানা দেওয়ান।

বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য রাখেন স্টেট ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশের স্কুল অব হেলথ-এর ডিন প্রফেসর ডা. নওজিয়া ইয়াসমিন। তিনি প্লাস্টিক ব্যবহারে এখনই সংযমী হওয়ার ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন এবং ভবিষ্যতে ওজিএসবিএস-এর সঙ্গে যৌথ উদ্যোগে কাজ করার প্রত্যাশা ব্যক্ত করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন স্টেট ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশের প্রভাষক তাহনিয়াতুল জান্নাত সামিরা। সবশেষে চেয়ারম্যান প্রফেসর ডা. ফারহানা দেওয়ান সমাপনী বক্তব্যের মাধ্যমে সেমিনারের সফল সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করেন।

The 35th Academic Council Meeting of the State University of Bangladesh was convened on 25 April 2026 at the University’s Permanent Campus in South Purbachal.

The meeting was attended by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar, all Deans, and Department Chairmen.
