The exhibition will take place from 04 to 06 November 2025, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, at the Exhibition Gallery (Level 3)and Jury Space (Level 4) of the Department of Architecture, DUET.

We are thrilled to share that a team of four students from Department of Architecture, DUET has secured the Award of “Excellence in Community Impact” in the International Design Competition 🌿A Healing Space arranged by Claymire, in association with Placemaking Bangladesh.

📌Jurors’ comments: “কমলার ডাকে মননের পানে is a powerful cultural intervention that reclaims the river as a site of memory, identity, and gathering. By reviving a historic paddle steamer not as a relic but as a living vessel of reflection and community, the project restores a long-lost anchor to Dhaka’s riverfront life. The preserved orange hull, echoing gerua, transforms the ship into a beacon of peace and continuity, turning speed into serenity. In doing so, the project renews the cultural heartbeat of the Buriganga, offering the city both heritage and healing in one shared civic space.”

We extend our heartiest congratulations to the team for successfully securing the award, having competed against over 1,000 global participants from 400 teams. The Top 30 designs were showcased, at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka, each reimagining how spaces can heal people, communities, and the planet.

We are delighted to announce that Basudeb Sarker (21 Series), Level 03, Term 02, student of the Department of Architecture, DUET, has received the "Observational Award of Distinction" in the prestigious ASAI’s 39th Annual Architecture in Perspective Student Competition.

The AIP Exhibition is an internationally acclaimed platform that showcases outstanding architectural illustrations every year from around the world, celebrating the art of visual storytelling in architecture. Selected Artworks will be featured in the AIP 39 publication and showcased in the printed exhibition during the ASAI Conference, scheduled to take place from October 1st to 3rd, 2025, in Japan.

We had the pleasure of hosting our beloved alumni Jannatul Naim in Thursday Forum on 15.05.2025.
She is currently working as an Architect at BRAC-IED. She shared her inspiring journey—from B.Arch to working with POCAA, Co.Creation.Architects, and now at BRAC-IED. Her story motivated us and gave valuable insights into the professional world.

Today, our Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zoynal Abedin, and the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Bayezid Ismail Choudhury, along with our esteemed faculty members, received the IAB Accreditation Certificate from the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB).

We're thrilled to announce that Md. Alal Uddin (17th Batch, DoA-DUET) has won the Commendation Prize in the Design Competition and Exhibition segment of the International Conference on “Architecture: Where to Go?” organized by BSRM.
His inspiring thesis project, “Connect the Community Through Under-Flyover Development,” envisions transforming neglected urban voids into vibrant, inclusive community spaces.

On February 11, the Department of Architecture,DUET organized an enriching study tour for Level 1, Term 1 students, offering a blend of learning, exploration, and unforgettable experiences. The group first visited the Aloki Exhibition Center in Mohakhali, where they had the opportunity to view exceptional works of art by renowned artists. The next stop was the Bangladesh Liberation War Museum in Agargaon, Dhaka, a place where the architectural design and historical significance come together, revealing the country’s proud past. The tour was led by faculty members Farhana Ahsan , Adila Tahsin Sara , Mr. Galib Nur Anan , and Aqib Mohammad Nibir.

A study tour filled with learning, exploration, and memorable experiences, where knowledge meets adventure at every step. DoA-DUET arranged a study tour with Level 3, Term 1 students at Hotel Nondini, designed by Ar. Bayejid Mahbub Khondker sir, was an enlightening experience. The well-organized and educative arrangements provided valuable insights into architectural design and urban planning. It was a great opportunity to blend learning with exploration in a truly inspiring setting.
