20𝒕𝒉 𝑮𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 | 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑲𝒉𝒖𝒍𝒏𝒂
The 20th Meeting of the Governing Body of Imperial College of Engineering, Khulna was held today in a constructive and encouraging atmosphere. The meeting was attended by the two members approved by the University of Rajshahi, Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Kabir Bhuiya and Prof. Dr. M. Shameem Ahsan.
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome and congratulations to the newly appointed Principal of the college.
During the meeting, the Governing Body reviewed the college’s overall academic progress, student performance, employment outcomes, laboratory facilities, classroom environment, and future development plans.
The members expressed their satisfaction with several areas of progress, particularly:
🔹 Continuous improvement in academic results: The Governing Body appreciated the steady improvement in the college’s examination results over the past few years and encouraged the administration and faculty members to work collectively toward achieving even better results in the coming years.
🔹 Graduate employment: Satisfaction was expressed regarding the increasing rate of employment among graduates. The members advised the college to take further initiatives to enhance students’ employability through career-oriented training, professional skill development, and stronger industry–academia collaboration.
🔹 Laboratory development: The recent addition of modern laboratory equipment was appreciated. The Governing Body emphasized further expansion of practical learning facilities to ensure that students develop strong hands on technical competencies.
🔹 Classroom environment: The members expressed satisfaction with the overall classroom environment and advised the college to continue maintaining a student friendly, disciplined, and conducive academic atmosphere.
🔹 Skills and professional development: Greater emphasis was recommended on students’ technical knowledge, communication skills, leadership abilities, problem solving capacity, and professional preparedness.
🔹 Research and innovation: The Governing Body encouraged the college to create more opportunities for students and faculty members to engage in research, innovation, project-based learning, and academic activities.
🔹 Industry linkage and career preparation: Strengthening collaboration with industries, expanding internship opportunities, and introducing more job oriented training programs were identified as important steps toward improving graduate employability.
🔹 Academic monitoring and mentoring: The members also emphasized strengthening academic monitoring, student mentoring, and teacher student interaction to ensure continuous academic development.
Overall, the meeting reflected the Governing Body’s appreciation for the college’s ongoing progress while providing valuable strategic guidance for further improvement.
