IQAC Honours Top 10 Researchers for Global Ranking Success:
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has honoured the university's top 10 researchers today (18 February, 2026) at 4:00 pm at the meeting room of the IQAC Office, Karim Bhaban, BAU for having their names featured in the Scopus Index 2025 list of the world's top researchers.
The program was Chaired by the Director, IQAC Prof. Dr. M. Asaduzzaman Sarker and Honorable Dean and Syndicate Member Prof. Dr. G. M. Mujibar Rahman was present as the Chief Guest. Honorable Coordinator, CASR Prof. Dr. Md. Samsul Alam was present as Special Guest. The two Additional Directors Prof. Dr. Md. Shaheed Reza and Prof. Dr. Murad Ahmed Faruk were also present.
In the program, the researchers also exchanged their views to further strengthen the position BAU in international rankings.

We are delighted to share with you that according to the "Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2026" Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has secured 1st position nationally and ranked within 601-800 band globally in Life Sciences Category. It is worth mentioning that 6 (six) universities were positioned within 601-800 in this year's ranking and they were:
1. Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU)
2. Daffodil International University (DIU)
3. Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU)
4. Jahangirnagar University (JU)
5. Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST)
6. University of Dhaka (DU).

This year, BAU scored country-wide best in Teaching (score 19.1) and Research Environment (score 14.1) among the five criteria used for the ranking process.

According to the THE website, the Life Sciences ranking evaluates universities across four core disciplines: veterinary science, biological sciences (including biology and biochemistry), agriculture and forestry, and sport science. A workshop titled “Adaption and Implementation of BNQF” was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) to enhance the quality of higher education. Organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the workshop took place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Conference Room of the Faculty of Agriculture. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan was present as the Chief Patron. The Special Guests of this workshop were Prof. Dr. Masum Ahmed, Dean (in-charge), Faculty of Agriculture, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahidul Haque, Students’ Affairs Advisor of BAU. Chaired by the Director of IQAC, Prof. Dr. M. Asaduzzaman Sarker, and moderated by the Additional Director, Prof. Dr. Murad Ahmed Farukh, the discussants included Prof. Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain, Prof. Dr. Md. Zulfikar Rahman and Prof. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman Pramanik. The workshop featured detailed discussions on various technical aspects and implementation strategies of the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF).
In his address as the Chief Patron, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan thanked the organizers for arranging such a workshop and expressed hope that the implementation of the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework would play a crucial role in elevating the standard of higher education in the country to an international level. He inspired everyone to work towards ensuring that BAU remains at the forefront of agricultural education through the improvement of educational quality and that other countries follow BAU in this field. He praised the qualitative merit of the university teachers and expressed optimism that through their collective efforts, BAU would advance further in providing quality higher education.
It is worth noting that 120 teachers from various departments of the Faculty of Agriculture participated in this day-long workshop.

A workshop titled ‘Adaptation and Implementation of BNQF’ was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) with the aim of enhancing the quality of higher education and ensuring the alignment with the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework. Organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the workshop took place on January 7, 2026 Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Medicine Conference Room of the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan attended as the Chief Patron and the Special Guests included Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Prof. Dr. Md. Bahanur Rahman and Prof. Dr. Md. Ali Reza Faruk from the Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries. The event was presided over by the Director of IQAC, Prof. Dr. M. Asaduzzaman Sarker while the Additional Director, Prof. Dr. Murad Ahmed Farukh moderated. The welcome address was delivered by the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Masum Ahmad.
In his speech as Chief Patron, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan thanked the organizers for arranging the workshop. He stated that the implementation of BNQF will play a crucial role in elevating the standard of higher education in the country to an international level. He expressed hope that through this workshop, university teachers would gain practical and clear insights into modernizing the curriculum and adopting world-class teaching methods. He also praised the qualitative standards of most teachers at the university and noted that their collective efforts would further advance BAU in providing quality higher education. He wished for the overall success of the workshop.
It is worth mentioning that 52 teachers from various departments of the Faculty of Veterinary Science participated in this day-long workshop. Detailed discussions were held on the technical aspects and implementation strategies of BNQF.

প্রধান পৃষ্ঠপোষকের বক্তব্যে ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ড. এ কে ফজলুল হক ভূঁইয়া এ ধরনের কর্মশালা আয়োজনের জন্য সংশ্লিষ্টদের ধন্যবাদ জানান। তিনি বলেন, বাংলাদেশ ন্যাশনাল কোয়ালিফিকেশন ফ্রেমওয়ার্ক (BNQF) বাস্তবায়ন দেশের উচ্চশিক্ষার মান আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে উন্নীত করতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে। এই কর্মশালার মাধ্যমে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষকরা শিক্ষাক্রম আধুনিকায়ন ও বিশ্বমানের পাঠদান পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে বাস্তব ও সুস্পষ্ট ধারণা লাভ করবেন বলে তিনি আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন। ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর অত্র বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধিকাংশ শিক্ষকের গুণগত মানের প্রশংসা করেন এবং বলেন, তাঁদের সম্মিলিত প্রচেষ্টায় বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মানসম্মত উচ্চশিক্ষায় আরও এগিয়ে যাবে। তিনি কর্মশালার সার্বিক সাফল্য কামনা করেন।

A significant milestone for scientific community of Bangladesh:
Bangladesh has been ranked 61st globally in the prestigious Nature Index 2025 and 13th in the Asia-Pacific region. This ranking shows the growing impact and international recognition of research by Bangladeshi scientists. Here, it is worth mentioning that the Nature Index 2025 has been prepared from 145 natural science and health science journals from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025.

Let us celebrate this milestone and continue supporting our researchers as they bring pride to our nation.

A symposium titled ‘Sustainable Bioenergy Solutions for a Low-Carbon Future’ organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) with funding from the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) was held on 14th December 2025 (Sunday) at 11:00 am at the Conference Room, Faculty of Agriculture, BAU.

Chief Guest at the event was Mr. Mohammad Wahid Hossain, ndc and Chairman (Senior Secretary) of BEPRC while the Guest of Honor was Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BAU, Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan. Special Guests included Member (Additional Secretary) of BEPRC and Students’ Affairs Advisor of BAU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahidul Haque. The symposium was presided over by Prof. Dr. M. Asaduzzaman Sarker, Director of IQAC, and conducted by Prof. Dr. Murad Ahmed Farukh, the welcome address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Md. Shaheed Reza, Additional Director of IQAC.

In his speech, Chief Guest Mr. Mohammad Wahid Hossain said that energy is essential for doing any task. The necessity of energy in every aspect of modern living is undeniable and the energy sector must be further enriched by utilizing our own resources and through technological development. The agricultural scientists of Bangladesh have achieved unprecedented success in ensuring food and nutrition security for 180 million people of the country. As there is a close relationship between energy security and food security, he welcomed to intensify research in this sector and continue investment in research. In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan highlighted energy as a crucial element for improving the quality of life. He welcomed this initiative and called upon the guests from various institutions attending the symposium to make optimal use of their valuable time. Subsequently, two presentations were delivered by Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Director (Innovation) of BEPRC, and Professor Dr. Humayun Kabir, Department of Agricultural Economics, BAU.

It is worth noting that the symposium was attended by over a hundred participants that included representatives from the Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Ananda Mohan College, Engineering College and PDB Mymensingh, along with faculty members and researchers of the university.

প্রধান অতিথি জনাব মোহাম্মদ ওয়াহিদ হোসেন তাঁর বক্তব্যে বলেন, যেকোনো কাজ সম্পাদনের জন্য এনার্জি অপরিহার্য। আধুনিক জীবনযাপনের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রে এনার্জির প্রয়োজনীয়তা অনস্বীকার্য। আমাদের নিজস্ব সম্পদকে কাজে লাগিয়ে প্রযুক্তিগত উন্নয়নের মাধ্যমে এনার্জি সেক্টরকে আরও সমৃদ্ধ করতে হবে। ১৮ কোটি মানুষের খাদ্য ও পুষ্টি নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে বাংলাদেশের কৃষি বিজ্ঞানীরা অভূতপূর্ব সাফল্য অর্জন করেছেন। এনার্জি সিকিউরিটি ও ফুড সিকিউরিটির মধ্যে নিবিড় সম্পর্ক বিদ্যমান—এ কারণে এ খাতে গবেষণা জোরদার করা এবং গবেষণায় বিনিয়োগ অব্যাহত রাখা জরুরি। যেহেতু বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে গবেষণার উপযোগী পরিবেশ রয়েছে, তাই এই সুযোগকে সর্বোচ্চভাবে কাজে লাগাতে হবে। ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ড. এ কে ফজলুল হক ভূঁইয়া তাঁর বক্তব্যে জীবনযাত্রার মান উন্নয়নে এনার্জিকে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদান হিসেবে উল্লেখ করেন। তিনি এই উদ্যোগকে স্বাগত জানিয়ে সিম্পোজিয়ামে বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে আগত অতিথিবৃন্দকে তাঁদের মূল্যবান সময় যথাযথভাবে কাজে লাগানোর আহ্বান জানান। পরবর্তীতে সিম্পোজিয়ামে ২টি প্রেজেনটেশন উপস্থাপিত হয়। প্রেজেনটেশন উপস্থাপন করেন বিইপিআরসি’র পরিচালক (ইনোভেশন) ড. হাসান মাহমুদ এবং বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কোষাধ্যক্ষ প্রফেসর ড. হুমায়ূন কবির।

Asaduzzaman Sarker, participated in a significant national conference titled “Advancing Quality Assurance in Higher Education: Reflections from IQAC Leadership Across Universities in Bangladesh" organized by the IQAC of University of Dhaka.

Prof. Sarker joined the fellow IQAC leaders from different public and private universities in Bangladesh to share best practices and strategies for driving academic excellence. His participation shows our commitment to nurture a culture of continuous improvement and QA in all our academic and administrative endeavors.

A workshop titled ‘Adaptation and Implementation of BNQF’ was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Faculty Conference Room with the participation of teachers of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology arranged by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh Agricultural University. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan was present as the Chief Patron. Under the Chairmanship of IQAC Director Prof. Dr. M. Asaduzzaman Sarker and moderated by Additional Director Prof. Dr. Murad Ahmed Farukh, the Special Guest of the program, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, Prof. Dr. Md. Taj Uddin, spoke and Prof. Dr. Md. Ali Reza Faruk and Prof. Dr. Romiza Begum were present as discussants on the topic.

In the speech of the Chief Patron, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan said that the quality of the academic activities of this university will gain further recognition in the international arena through this training. He expressed his hope that such initiative of IQAC will play an important role in further developing and advancing the university. The Vice-Chancellor further said that IQAC is continuously working towards establishing BAU on the same platform of national and international standards. Let the new generation know that all are working sincerely to ensure quality education.

It is worth noting that 35 teachers from different departments of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology participated in the workshop.

[বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইন্সটিটিউশনাল কোয়ালিটি এসুরেন্স সেল(আইকিউএসি) এর তত্ত্বাবধানে কৃষি অর্থনীতি ও গ্রামীণ সমাজবিজ্ঞান অনুষদের শিক্ষকদের অংশগ্রহণে অনুষদীয় কনফারেন্স রুমে ৪ নভেম্বর ২০২৫, মঙ্গলবার সকাল ১০.০০ টায় "Adaptation and Implementation of BNQF” শীর্ষক একটি কর্মশালা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। এতে প্রধান পৃষ্ঠপোষক হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ড. এ কে ফজলুল হক ভূঁইয়া। আইকিউএসি পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. মো: আসাদুজ্জামান সরকারের সভাপতিত্বে এবং অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. মুরাদ আহমেদ ফারুখের সঞ্চালনায় বক্তব্য রাখেন অনুষ্ঠানের বিশেষ অতিথি কৃষি অর্থনীতি ও গ্রামীণ সমাজবিজ্ঞান অনুষদের ডিন প্রফেসর ড. মো: তাজ উদ্দিন এবং মূল বিষয়ের ওপর আলোচক হিসাবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রফেসর ড. মো: আলী রেজা ফারুক ও প্রফেসর ড. রমিজা বেগম।
প্রধান পৃষ্ঠপোষকের বক্তব্যে ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ড. এ. কে. ফজলুল হক ভূঁইয়া বলেন, অত্র বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একাডেমিক কার্যক্রমের গুণগত মান এই প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে আন্তর্জাতিক পরিমণ্ডলে আরও স্বীকৃতি লাভ করবে। তিনি আশা প্রকাশ করেন যে, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে আরও উন্নত ও অগ্রসর করতে আইকিউএসি’র (IQAC) এ ধরনের উদ্যোগ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে। ভাইস-চ্যান্সেলর আরও বলেন, “আমরা যেন আমাদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক মানের একই প্ল্যাটফর্মে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করতে পারি—সে লক্ষ্যে আইকিউএসি ধারাবাহিকভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। নতুন প্রজন্ম যেন জানতে পারে, আমরা কোয়ালিটি এডুকেশন নিশ্চিত করতে আন্তরিকভাবে কাজ করেছি।”
উল্লেখ্য, উক্ত কর্মশালায় কৃষি অর্থনীতি ও গ্রামীণ সমাজবিজ্ঞান অনুষদের বিভিন্ন বিভাগের ৩৫ জন শিক্ষক অংশগ্রহণ করেন।]

IQAC is proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Md. Shaheed Reza, our Additional Director has been nominated as the Chairman of the 'Fish and Fisheries Products Technical Committee' at the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) under the Ministry of Industry, GoB for the 2025-2027 term.
Team IQAC thanks Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan for nominating Dr. Reza as a member of this committee at BSTI.
