Sherpur Polytechnic Institute, the fertile ground of technical education of Sherpur district, is playing the key role in diploma-in-Engineering sector. The Institute began its journey is 2004 with only one Technology, electronics, under the Directorate of Technical Education. Now it has four departments. These are Civil, Computer, Electronic and Environment

. At present two shifts are running in this institute. The total number of teachers, officers, and employees are 59. About 384 students complete their diploma-in-Engineering course in every year. They play a vital role in national economy as well as they mobilize the economic sector by earning foreign currency. The institute is situated in a natural beautiful place. Its location is beside Dhaka Sherpur Highway at Bhatshala union which is around 05 k.m. east from Sherpur town. It has a compact campus of 02 acres land. It has four attached academic buildings. Among them two are 05 storied and 02 are two storied.
