Department of Political Studies, SUST The Department of Political Studies started its academic activities in 1995-1996 session. Its a famous department of Shahjalal University

At the out set, its name was Political Studies & Public Affairs. Consequently, with the demand of advancement and modernity, the department has been turned into Political Studies and Public Administration. In 2005, according to the panel discussion of the university authority, the department was separated into two distinct department: one is Public Administration and preceding one is renamed as Po

litical Studies. With newly emergence, the department of Political Studies has been spreading the flame of knowledge to promote the welfare for the society as well as for the entire nation. The mission of the department of Political Studies is to serve the nation through excellent educational opportunities involving outstanding teaching, quality research and behaviors cartelistic of national and international politics and public affairs and public administration as well. With excellent instruction as the highest priority, the department also supports extensive interaction with other universities in Bangladesh through communications as well as the active participation an various examination committees. The Department of Political Studies is consist of well qualified teachers who are sincerely interested in helping students make optimum gains as developing career. While they necessarily function in various formal capacities to effect those gains, each can be relied on to provide the personal guidance, assistance and encouragement that a student might occasionally seek in his/her development. The faculty consist of individuals drawn from leading universities throughout Bangladesh and abroad. The students of this department have been devoted to the overall welfare development of this country and countrymen showing there creativity and merit in different governmental and nongovernmental institution and organization. In addition to proudly notifying that some of the students of this department have been appointed as teacher for their glorious academic achievement. Besides the academic excellency, the students of this department have also kept there remarkable achievement in extra co-curriculum activities like debate, quiz competition, football, cricket and other sports
